The Clone Wars have engulfed the galaxy in chaos, and as the dreaded droid army of the Separatists wipes out everything in its path, the future of the Galactic Republic becomes increasingly uncertain. Meanwhile, Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano embark on a pivotal mission that pits them directly against the dreaded Jabba the Hutt and his criminal minions while Count Dooku enlists the aid of Asajj Ventress and the rest of his sinister agents in ensuring that the young Jedi fails in his noble mission. Back on the front lines of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda attempt to fend off the forces of the dark side with the assistance of a massive clone army.

    Begun This Clone War Has

Ahem. A list! Can't have too many of those.

1. Obi-Wan -- Let me begin with probably the Clone Wars (greatest asset. Obi-Wan. Or whoever did his voice. Shame on me for not remembering his name. Well anyway, he was excellent. I could have mistaken him for Ewan McGregor any day. His expression was superb, registering suprise, elegance, anger, condensendence, or joy with a single word.
2. Asajj -- Great villain, great vocalizations, mysterious, commanding, everything you could hope for in a Star Wars heroine gone bad. Which brings us to the real heroine...
3. Padme -- I regret to say that they did not have enough of this strong and determined woman who everyone has grown to love. However, in the few scenes she was in, she was masterful. Smashing droids, blasting guards, skillfully maneuvoring negotions (sometimes agressively), Padme lived up to her reputation in every fashion, and may have even enhanced it.
4. Ahsoka -- You may love her (I do) or you may hate her, but Ahsoka was good. Very good. Her vocalizations were excellent, and her animated movement was better than most. In terms of strength as a character, her lightsaber action had me enthralled (taking down three MagnaGuards in the middle of the Dune Sea with a baby Hutt on her back? AMAZING!) and her wisecracking hardly got old. Except perhaps for "sky-guy"... On second thought, Leia always called Han "flyboy," so I really don't mind sky-guy.
5. Clones -- The clones were, in a word, awesome. Powerful, organized, intelligent, and relentless, these guys were Jango reborn! (I wonder why...) Seeing some of them perish in awful ways brought this sense of loss and sadness to the movie, serving to remind the audience that there is a war going on. This isn't just a lightsaber duel exhibit. This is the CLONE wars. With a capital "C'.
6. Progression -- This is something, to my surprise, that nobody is talking about, but which I noticed right away. In the PT, equipment, uniforms, starships, and ordance, is different from the OT, obviously because of the passage of time. Since TCW occurs just prior to the fall of the Republic, the equipment and such of the military and the Jedi is a mixture of that seen in the PT and OT, quite masterfully done, effectively tying everything together.
7. Action -- For better or for worse, I belive everyone agrees that the movie was never devoid of action. Stunning lightsaber battles, excellent ground battles, and outstanding space battles, make the action portions of the movie a definate eyefull.
8. Funny Droids -- What is this, a new model of battle droid programmed to crack jokes? Well, I liked it, and my sister did too, by the way. She's a big battle droid fan now, driving my mom crazy with "Roger roger."
9. Music!!! -- I loved it!! Of course, nothing can ever come close to the original John Williams score, but this was exciting, catchy, and a breath of fresh air.
10. Utinni! -- I loved the little surprise at the end.

An excellent prelude to the Cartoon Network Series every Friday!
May the Force be with us all!

    Good for TV

Star Wars cartoons are great...for TV. For the big screen this one is just 'OK'. I hope this changes.

the force is not with this one

Having loved all 6 star war movies, I hesitated before getting this. I was right to hesitate. Having an animated tv show is fine, but trying to pass this off as a movie doesn't work. It felt weak. The padawan was annoying. The graphics were pretty cool, but that just made it feel more like a video game than a movie. Save your money and hope that when the live tv series comes out that it's better than this.

    Star Wars gets animated

After I began to watch the movie I actually forgot that it was a cartoon. Even my grandparents liked the movie a lot. After we saw the movie, all three of us got hooked on the television show on Cartoon Network. I hightly recommend this to any Star Wars fan who was a bit skeptical to see it becasue it was a cartoon. You will not be disappointed.
