Overview

From creative masterminds Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, Stargate: The Ark of Truth stars series favorites Amanda Tapping (Maj. Samantha Carter), Beau Bridges (Maj. Gen. Henry "Hank" Landry), Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson), Ben Browder (Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell), Christopher Judge (Teal'c), and Claudia Black (Vala Doran). Concluding the primary storyline of Seasons 9 and 10 of the Stargate SG-1 Ori arc, which began in "Avalon," the Stargate: The Ark of Truth plot picks up after "Unending," the SG-1 series finale. In search of an ancient weapon which could help them defeat the sinister Ori force, SG-1 discovers it may be in the Ori's own home galaxy and must travel there aboard the Odyssey, only to find themselves in a distant galaxy fighting two powerful enemies. Bonus materials include feature-length audio commentary with writer, director and producer Robert C. Cooper, actor Christopher Judge, and director of photography, Peter Woeste, as well as featurettes including "Stargate SG-1: The Road Taken - Prelude to The Ark of Truth," "The Ark of Truth: Stargate at Comic-Con," and "Uncovering The Ark of Truth."

Movie was what I had expect of it and it fits the time line of the series exactly. Was very well produced and filmed.

This was basically a feature-length SG-1 episode, with everything you would expect from the series. It does a good job of wrapping up loose ends from the end of the series.

I love Stargate and was thrilled when this came out. I watched it with my dad and while he's not a die hard Stargate fan, he liked it too. I read a review about the movie that said it was confusing but I don't really think it was. The flashbacks to Ancients at the beginning was slightly perplexing. Personally, I think that you could watch this movie and follow it without having watched the show first. Of course fans of the show will appreciate certain things more--references to previous episodes. Also I hear that Stargate: The Continuum is coming out at the end of July. Richard Dean Anderson is supposed to be in that one--I can't wait! Hope you enjoy the movie!

Loved this, I pre-ordered this and wasn't disappointed. I laughed, I cried and just generally had a good time watching this. I have been watching Stargate SG-1 since it was on Showtime. So I have been eagerly awaiting the movies. You don't have to watch the series, it does help but it's not necessary. Great family movie
