Superman is a cool character, and his importance as the first real costumed hero in comics is undeniable. That being said, the character lacks depth. He is too powerful to be challenged by many foes (unless de-powered by some trickery), and is just too wholesome to be believed most of the time. This is true from movies, to comics, to animated shows, ect. What makes this volume better then most if the 3 part adventure World's Finest, which highlights the first meeting of Batman and Superman. Batman is a character with remarkable depth and is ably performed by the fantastic Kevin Conroy (continuing his portrayal from BTAS). Seeing Batman constantly being more on the ball then the Kryptonian is very fitting. Superman is okay, Batman is great. This is why Batman's animated show went so much longer and inspired multiple spin-offs.
