SuperstarDirector: Bruce McCulloch
Molly Shannon brings her Saturday Night Live character Mary Katherine Gallagher to the silver screen. A mildly hyperactive Catholic school student convinced that she smells bad, Mary Catherine has a dream: she wants a boy to kiss her. Not just any old sloppy teenage make-out party kind of smooch, but the sort of kiss that will make her tingle with joy from head to toe. The trouble is, boys aren't all that interested in Mary Catherine, especially not Sky (Will Ferrell), the boy she'd most like to be kissed by. So Mary Catherine has a goal: if she wants to be kissed the way boys kiss girls in the movies, then she must become a movie star. Not a bad idea, but how does one bring this about? Superstar co-stars Elaine Hendrix and former Kids in the Hall cast member Mark McKinney, while another Kids in the Hall alumnus, Bruce McCulloch, directed.

I thought this movie was so funny. Will farrow and Molly Shannon are wonderful actors and they really bring out the best of each other in this film. I thought it was funny and made me laugh.
Molly Shannon is a nerd who's dream is to be kissed exactly the way she wants. In the end she gets what she wants and becomes asuperstar. It's a movie that's funny beyond belief.
This movie makes people laugh so hard they can barely control their bodily functions... you will want to tell everyone they are ''horrible'' just as Mary Katherine tells her Grandmother when you get mad at them or simply because they don't enjoy this classic. Borrow it, Rent it, Buy it... your life will not be complete without it!
By the end of this movie, I was rolling around on the ground with tears in my eyes and my stomach ached from laughing. Hilariously wierd and brilliant. I love it!
Featuring some stars from Saturday Night Live, this is a movie that can make anybody laugh.
This is definitely one of my favs. This movies is hilarious! She is so funny!! LOL... LOVE!
Very awesome movie. Great spirit in Molly Shannon, bringing her Saturday Night Live character into a whole new perspective. Just brilliant. You'll laugh until you cry. Strange character faced with normality. Awesome job.
this movie is a comedy i laugh at the cool funny parts its a great comedy and you'll just laugh when you watch it so if its a movie that you like rent it at a video store or even better buy it on dvd so very very funny and hilarous
Superstar is a hilarious comedy about a deranged Catholic school girl named Mary Catherine Gallagher who has hopes and dreams of becoming a Superstar.(Well, her orginal hope was to just get a great kiss, but she realizes that ''Superstars'' are the ones who get those) If you've been a loyal fan of Saturday Night Live (SNL), or just new to the movie, you will laugh the same at this funny movie. Molly Shannon is a great actress and the supporting cast does the movie good. Her bedroom revalation and her tree ''love'' scene are my personal favorites.
