Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation

( 7 )

Overview

The frantically maniacal Leatherface returns for one more outing in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation starring Renée Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey. Columbia has done only passable treatment on this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. While the colors are generally well saturated and even, there is an excessive amount of both edge enhancement and grain in this picture. While the colors are generally well saturated and even, there is an excessive amount of both edge enhancement and grain in this picture. Overall, this is an only passable version of this film, sporting a pan-and-scan option on side B. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 in English and Spanish and is also only slightly passable. The dialogue, effects, and music include a small amount of distortion in some areas. This soundtrack doesn't include much in the way of surround sounds, and both fidelity and depth are nearly non-present in this mix. Also included on this disc are English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and Thai subtitles. The only extra features available on this disc are some thin production notes, a few talent filmographies, and a few theatrical trailers for the horror movies I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend, and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

    Comedy or What ?

I think this version of Texas Chainsaw was a spoof. I thought it was funny, particularly seeing Reene Zellweger chased, knocked around and thrown all over the place. It was just insanity on film at the least. I don't believe film was made to be a horrific classic Chainsaw film. Watch it again from a different point of veiw. I think some of it will make you laugh.

    WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

What in the hell were they thinking when they made this piece of garbage! They totally ruined the series. They ruined LEATHERFACE. I only purchased this one to complete the collection. why, why oh why did the director who helped create the original ruin the franchise. Not even Matthew Mchonaughy's performance could salvage this piece of trash. would have given it no stars but one was the lowest you could go.

    WOW!!!!

The new version was even better! It is in theaters now and I went to see it Sunday October19,2003. It was the best scary movie ever that I have watched. Though I need to see the old version.

    Do Not Get This Movie!!!!!!!

This movie of the last Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the worst movie ever. Leather is a dragqueen in the movie and he is sacred out of his life of the people when he is about to kill them. If you expect the gore, strong killing, and the suspense do not get this move because it dose not have nothing like what you want.
