timeless series on history of science

I saw the series on TV a long time ago. It should be taught in high schools everywhere. Every student should have the benefit of exposure to the late Jacob Brounowski. Thanks for keeping it available B&amp N.

    more from this reviewer

This was the first of the opinion-science-philosophy series ever

This was the first of the opinion-science-philosophy series ever produced, and remains the best. It's hard now to convey the impact this BBC series, shown on PBS in America, had 40 years ago. That it spawned a host of imitators should give you a clue. But to the uninitiated viewer, and that should include every 17 year old in America as a rite of passage, that impact remains. This is the original. It is magnificent. For any flowering mind of any age but especially for those just beginning to contemplate the world, being given the opportunity to see things through Jacob's lens is a must.
