Overview

The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue, the latest animated feature in the popular series for children, concerns the adventures of Toaster and his pals (and fellow household appliances) Lampy, Radio, Blanky, and Kirby the carpet sweeper, who make friends with a group of animals at a veterinary clinic. When Toaster discovers that the animals are scheduled to be sent to a scientific laboratory where they'll be used for testing, he and his friends join forces to help the critters escape to freedom.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Plug into this 1997 produced-for-video sequel that continues the anthropomorphic adventures of the "out-of-date" appliances, who have accompanied their beloved Master to veterinary school. Toaster, Radio, Blanky, Lampy, and Kirby the vacuum cleaner (voiced by Thurl "Tony the Tiger" Ravenscroft) enlist the help of an archaic computer, Wittgenstein (Brian Doyle-Murray) in a race against time to rescue lab animals -- including the requisite wisecracking rat and an adorable kitty. These lovable critters have been snatched for scientific testing by the Master's jealous assistant. The animation is strictly factory issue, and one misses the efficiency of the original voice cast (especially Jon Lovitz's Radio), but young Toaster fans will enjoy switching this one on nonetheless.
