.... he was also terminally ill with cancer. in fact, he reminds me of morgan freeman to the 'T' in this film. morgan was also one of his favorite actors. it was a hard movie for me to go and see, but i'm glad i did. it inspired me not to take anything for granted. i even wrote my own bucket list shortly after seeing the film. <BR/>It reminded me to live each day as if it was my last. <BR/><BR/>although the plot was rather serious, freeman and nicholoson make for a hilarious pairing. their chemistry was on point! <BR/><BR/>I laughed, cried, was contemplative, and then laughed and cried some more. I highly recommend this for a nice twist of tearjerking and tickling the funny bone.

I cried so hard but yet laughed at the same time. I couldn't believe how amazing the actors were and the script was awesome and well written. Who couldn't love the beautiful friendship between these two men as they are dying. Travelling literally to the ends of the earth for each other they find love and fulfill there dreams. Hope you enjoy this movie as much as i did.

Wow! I saw this movie when it was first released. I loved it! It was everything I thought it would be. Funny, inspirational and exciting.<BR/><BR/>I am a fan of Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson and have been for a long time. The lesson I got from this is...Don't take life for granted and enjoy the time you have here. It doesn't matter if you are ill with disease or healthy as ever. You should just enjoy life.

I'm not ususally moved by many dramas, because some of them get so bogged down in their own mellow drama enough for me to care. But this film nearly made me cry. What a tear jerker, it tugged at my heart strings. Heart warming and sad at the same time.

I saw this movie and loved it. It had comedy, excitement and drama. The chemistry between Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholason made me want to see them together so much more. It's too bad the movie critics gave this movie lukewarm reviews. It was heartwarming and made me write my own " Bucket List" .

I love this movie, not only because of great performance by two great actors, but also because it reviewed some great truth in life. Life is a only a short journey. Everybody need to check out at certain time. We need to find joys in our life and give joys to each other's life. I will definitly buy a CD and add it into my home movie liberary.

I watched this movie with several other people, and we all loved it!! Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman were excellent together, and the movie touches your emotions on many levels--you'll go from laughter to thoughtfulness to tears, and I'm looking forward to watching "The Bucket List" again.

Selecting a category for this very fine film results in the all-encompassing label 'mixed media', for lack of a better term. It is smart (with an excellent script by Justin Zackham), addresses some important social issues, and it has moments of touching tenderness and equal moments of very sold comedy. AND it greatly benefits from the casting of Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, two consummate actors playing out a theme that is unexpectedly a solid study of friendship and love. Carter (Morgan Freeman) narrates the story: Carter gave up his dreams for a college education and major career to support his surprise child from his wife Virginia (Beverly Todd) and has worked as a mechanic to support his own family, including his son Roger (Alfonso Freeman, Morgan's son in real life also!). After his children have all become successful, Carter is suddenly diagnosed with terminal cancer. He is hospitalized for chemotherapy, only to be placed in the same room with the wealthy and cantankerous owner of the hospital, Edward (Jack Nicholson) who also has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and is also in the hospital for chemotherapy. Edward's only 'friend' (he has basically alienated the world through his behavior) is his assistant Thomas (an excellent Sean Hayes) who tends to his every need. Gradually the two disparate men grow into a friendship united by the common bond that they both must face impending death. Together they create 'the bucket list' - things they want to do before dying, and because of Edward's wealth, they leave the hospital on a worldwide adventure of skydiving, racing cars, visiting the pyramids, etc. The manner in which these two elderly men bond casts a warm glow over the film without ever touching on the maudlin risk of communication. They simply grow in their appreciation of life as they learn from each other. Freeman and Nicholson are in peak form here and the supporting cast is very fine. But special credit must go to director Rob Reiner for giving us yet another film about humanism that would enrich the lives of anyone who takes the time to watch this very fine film. Grady Harp

I wasn't able to see it at the theater and looked forward to the DVD release so I could own it. I watched it with a good friend and now am watching it again alone. It is a fabulous story and the acting is great, as you would expect of Freeman and Nicholson. A Social Worker

As you would expect from Nicholson and Freeman, incredible acting. The story is sensitve, serious, compassionate, and funny. We laughed and cried. Saw the movie more than once and recommended it to our friends.

A story with humor, friendship, anger and an outstanding film for any age... Couldn't wait for this movie to be released on DVD to add to my library. I would never have expected less from these 2 outstanding actors. I can't even think of a movie with either Mr. Freeman or Mr. Nicholas that I haven't enjoyed!!! They haven't lost what made us love them in the first place and do an excellent job of portraying the characters in this drama/comedy. We should all be so lucky to have this kind of friendship!!

This was a horrible movie. Two great actors "phoning in" a hackneyed, cliched piece of dreck. Every move was telegraphed. The accompanying music sounded like a commercial for a "Time-Life" 60s compilation. The rote montage of these terminally ill men racing performance cars and sitting on Egyptian Pyramids looked blue-screen fake. Nicholson and Freeman are great actors (although how many more "wise & noble, pseudo-deity roles will Freeman essay?). Rob Reiner has been inspired in the past: "When Harry Met Sally" and "Spinal Tap." But the "Bucket List" was consumate Hollywood crap. That said, my wife loved it...
