We love this movie. Our family has watched it many times over the years, and we still enjoy it. Great cast, enjoyable all around. If you just want to sit back and enjoy a movie that isn't full of sexual content or superhero feats, then The 'Burbs is for you.
This is a favorite. Quirky and stylized, the film ranges from over-the-top to subtle. Perfectly cast, it's a comedic romp where the leads are almost as fiendish as the adversaries. It never did much box office, but it's now almost a cult pick.
This movie is a typical Tom Hanks vehicle. It is hilariously funny and so typical about gossip between neighbors. Things get completely out of hand and everything snowballs, until the very end when you realize that their interference was justified!
the way these neighbors dont give up in determining their neighbors are spooky is hillarias.I laughed till I cried.
The 'Burbs is one of the funniest movies ever made. It's DVD release is definitely worth the money. Not only does it feature an alternate ending to the movie, but it features production notes, cast and crew bios, and the original theatrical trailer which features snippets of scenes that were cut from the movie. Check out the internet movie database, www.imdb.com/search to find out what these deleted scenes are and what alternate ending the DVD has as an extra. It's a great movie, and a great DVD buy.
Quite simply the most entertaining comedy ever! There are so many little ''throw away'' funny lines that you have to watch it hundreds of times to fully appreciate it. (E.g. Carol: ''Why don't you stop this before somebody falls off a roof or gets themselves electrocuted or something?'') Visual comedy (Art eating the dogfood, Rumsfield's fall off the roof, Art getting electrocuted, the spike from the roof going through the Klopek's car...)are superb, and the dramatic ending... Wonderful. To quote Ricky's ending line... ''Man, I love this neighborhood!''
Even though Corey Feldman is in this movie, it is one of my favorites. It's just an intelligent comedy one can watch over and over. Sadly, it's very underrated.
this movie is my all tiome favorite, this a laugh out loud movie. completely hillarious, the best,
Art, Mark, and Ray step up to the plate instead of calling the police on their ''dream'' (nightmare) neighbors....Sardines, pretzels, and upside-down brownies may become your favorite snacks once you've viewed this hoot enough times. Just don't leave your toupee on the stove, ok?
This is my all-time favorite movie. It has so many subtle jokes going on all of the time that you have to stay on your toes not to miss them. If you like offbeat humor, this is a great way to spend some time.
