This is a strong disc from Warner Brothers that is noteworthy for having Schroder commenting as an adult on his work as a child actor.

    A terrific tear-jerker!

This is one of those movies that stays with you for a long time. Jon Voight was so good in this movie. Ricky Schroeder was a wonderful child actor and remains a wonderful adult star. My only pet-peve about the movie was Faye Dunaway. I really didn't believe she was good for this role. She was not a warm character for the mother role. Her face is devoid of any emotion. I don't feel she did the part any justice. I like her very much, but, in my opinion, she was not right for the part. She was terrific in Bonnie and Clyde, absolutely wonderful in Mommie Dearest, however, I was very disappointed in her performance when I first saw it at the movie theater. The most heart wrenching scene--even thought there were so many--was the scene in the barn, when she's talking about what are T.J's dreams and hopes... and Billy(Jon Voight)says, "what about me..? what about my hopes, my dreams..what about me..!" It was so sad to see that this character was still so in love with the mother of his child..It was heart-breaking. I recommend this movie 100%. Even though I'm not enthusiastic about Dunaway's performance, Jon Voight is an incredible and under-rated actor, and I feel he should've won the Oscar that year. That's just my opinion.
