The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, written by C.S. Lewis, is an intense journey of four children as they escape their less then desirable earthily situation into a mystical magical world of adventure. As the kids struggle to understand themselves and their purpose they receive guidance by prominent wholesome characters who help them realize their true potential and purpose. Eventually, the children realize they will become what they make of themselves-"let us go on and take the adventure that shall fall to us" (p. 187)-which gives the book a great moral for all ages. Unfortunately, the author starts the book off rather slowly but gains interest as the story line proceeds. There is also some violence, in a battle, at the end of the book. Other then that I would highly recommend this book to every age group. C.S. Lewis is really good at grabbing your attention and emotions and running with them. Once you get to the core of this book you will not be able to put it down. It is easy light reading and overall enjoyable. It is truly an escape to a different world.
this movie is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is by far my favorite movie EVER! Skandar Keynes 15 (Edmund), William Moseley 18 (Peter), Anna Popplewell 18 (Susan), and Georgie Henley 10(Lucy)were absoulutely amazing in this movie and very talented actors espeically for being their age. The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe is based on the novel by C.S Lewis and the Movie is very faithful to the book. Andrew Adamson also made this movie what it is. I think this is a very unique but very good movie. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe comes out on DVD on April 4th
In addition to being a good story for all, even if Christian allegories are not your cup of tea, 'The Chronicles of Narnia' is a visually stunning film, espcially when the four children venture into their magical land. (There is one scene that looks like classic rear screen projection, which wil probably be cleaned up for DVD release.) A good looking film always adds to the story by being believable. Good and evil is the theme beyond Christianity. As in 'Rings,' there is a definite sense of right and wrong in this movie: The White Queen is wrong and those who oppose her ARE right. Enjoy! The Narnia is amazing, from beginning to end. Before I went to see the movie, I had some idea of what the movie is about, since I have never read the book, but I love fantasy stories in general and this is no exception. All the actors and actresses who have played the characters were wonderful. In addition, the special effects were so terrific that you will believe that Aslan and all the other creatures are alive. It's a movie for all generations. Everyone must see this movie!!!
My wife and I watched this in the theater. This was well directed and acted. I could just see the book in front of me when I was watching the movie. They did an awesome job of pulling from the book to make this movie. Simply Awesome! Thats all I have to say.
This is a fantastic movie that follows the book very well. The acting was awesome and the battle scene was sweet! Next to lotr this is my favorite movie!
i loved this movie it had a great story and it had great acting and all the actors fit their parts it really rocks, anyone that don't like this movie does not know what they are talking about, this is something to spend your money on
I expected this movie to be not at all good, but I sure did surprise myself when my mouth was open throughout the movie. This movie was one of the best, well thought out, intresting movies I have ever seen in my life, I have drempt about another world like that and have wondered about if this was related to what it says in the bible, aslo I wondered if something like this movie were actually true. ( Okay I may be kidding myself and hoping it was real.) This movie gives alot prespective on alot of things and I feel gives people an open mind on the unknown cause it sure does to me. Wonderful movie and I give it the highest ranking
I am a teacher and had just finished reading the original novel by C.S. Lewis to my fifth grade class. I went an saw the movie that night and was amazed at how well of a job Hollywood had done with it. The movie followed the book almost word for word. Disney gets huge props from movie on a job well done. The action, the suspense, and the excellent costumes were all breathtaking!
I was able to catch this movie in the theatre it is action packed, Motivational and inspiring. That's why I'm buying the dvd.
C.S. Lewis is one of the great contradictions of literary genius. A learned reclusive don at Cambridge University, cooly intellectual and skeptical about religion who over a period of years finally accepts the existence of not only a Creator but Redemption. Chronicles of Narnia was the vehicle that he used to explain his concept of good and evil to others that he believed otherwise would be caught up in the cynacism bred by an overly materialistic and secular world. This movie succeeds in telling that tale of morality beautifully without preaching. This movie is spectacular not only in a visual but pedagogic sense, in that it is entertaining eye candy, keeping one enthralled while faithfully telling the oldest and greatest story in the world: the eventual conquest of evil by good. It is particularly timely today when things like faith, hope and charity are under attack by people who believe that money, power and beauty are the real important things in life, when they all are fleeting and temporal as, well, a winter snowstorm. It may be a bit overwhelming for the very young or the very moronic, but for anyone else a wonderful viewing experience. Certainly better than lavender cowboys.
This movie's special effects were amazing! I saw this movie twice in the theatres, and both times, I was amazed at the thing that technology has accomplished. This movie is great for all fairytale lovers, there is some violence but they're careful not to show too much blood. Overall, this movie is one of the greatest epic fantasies I have seen in a while. A definite see!
I was really scared that they would run the movie into the ground and just completly go off the book but they didn't. I thought that the movie was great.I'm a big fan of the books. They did a really great job on this movie.
