DVD New in new packaging. 2 discs. Language: English. Run time: 326. A compendium of all things Goofy, THE COMPLETE GOOFY tracks Goofy from his humble beginnings in the 1930s ... to his current incarnation. Possessing an innocence and a lumbering affability that have endeared him to generations of fans, Goofy is one of the few lasting Disney characters that didn't achieve almost instantaneous success. Featuring a compilation of Goofy shorts, beginning with his first starring role, animator Art Babbitt's original description of Goofy's defining characteristics, memorabilia, and more, THE COMPLETE GOOFY is a delightful look at the career of Disney's resident goofball. Garsh! Every dog has his day, and Goofy is at long last getting his in this Walt Disney Treasures collections. One of Disney's most endearing animated stars, the Goofster stepped from behind Mickey's and Donald Duck's shadows with the 1939 cartoon "Goofy and Wilbur." Between 1939 and 1961, he evolved from a lovable, good-hearted simpleton into a 1950s Everyman. Fellow toon Roger Rabbit said it best in Who Framed Roger Rabbit: "Nobody takes a wallop like Goofy. What timing. What finesse. What a genius!" And here's proof -- 46 color cartoons that capture Goofy in all his slapstick glory. The best are the "how-to" cartoons, in which Goofy demonstrates a variety of sports, from swimming to hockey. Film critic and historian Leonard Maltin hosts this two-disc archival collection, which includes segments on Goofy's character development, a profile of the man who first gave Goofy his distinctive vocal personality, Pinto Colvig, and an interview with Bill Farmer, Colvig's successor. Also recommended for Disney and animation buffs are the two-disc sets Mickey Mouse in Black and White which includes Goofy's scene-stealing debut in the 1932 cartoon "Mickey's Revue" and Behind the Scenes at Walt Disney Studio.

    Everybody loves Goofy!

I am so please they came out with this compilation of all these wonderful Goofy cartoons. The only problem I found with the DVD is that you can't play all of the cartoons continuously. Instead of going on to the next cartoon when one is over, the DVD reverts back to the menu after each cartoon. Other than that, I'm glad to have all of the Goofy cartoons on DVD, to watch whenever I like.
