Overview

Inspector Robert Lewis (Kevin Whately), protégé of the legendary Inspector Morse (John Thaw), and his brilliant new partner, Detective Sergeant James Hathaway (Laurence Fox), return to the streets of Oxford and the halls of Oxford University. The three mysteries unraveled here, all of which aired in 2007 over Britain's ITV network, include:
  • "Whom the Gods Would Destroy" -- When an Oxford graduate is found dead near his run-down houseboat, detectives Lewis and Hathaway are thrown into a delicate murder case that implicates one of the university's most prominent figures.
  • "Old School Ties" -- When a bright young Oxford student is found murdered in a hotel room, detectives Lewis and Hathaway are drawn into a case driven by celebrity, scheming, and dangerous sexual politics.
  • "Expiation" -- When a North Oxford housewife is found hanged at home, it appears to be an open-and-shut case of suicide. She leaves behind a devastated husband and two young daughters, but no suicide note, which leads Lewis to suspect foul play.

I have enjoyed every episode of this complete series and am now

I have enjoyed every episode of this complete series and am now starting to watch all of them again. Inspector Lewis is much more personable tham Morse. Sgt Hathaway is so unique and a great addition to this team. His flair for subtlety and charm add such personality and humor to these fantastic murder mysteries. If murder and mystery are your form of movie enjoyment, then this series is for you. This set is worth every penny and I hope they continue to make even more episodes.

"Robbie Lewis" Has Matured and Addition of "Hathaway" Is Must See TV!

Introduced originally as "Inspector Morse" and His protege,Detective,"Robbie Lewis". Series has a Great,Believeable Inspector."James Hathaway" by His side,Insp,"Lewis" is unstoppable. M.E."Laura Hobbs" adds to a Gallows Dark Humour.Centreally located in Oxford, this is Brilliant TV.Reality does come into view w/ Stunning Art in Museum by Paolo Ucelli.Hopefully, this IS NOT the last of "Robbie Lewis" & "James Hathaway" solving Murder w/in the Mews of Oxford.Location is Beautifull.Colin Dexter's adaptation{s} are "spot on".Enjoy Immensly.{Do suggest when able,"Case Histories" w/ Jason Issacs.Formerly of Potter film mania.Kate Atkinson as well is Superb writer}.
