Some people may think that it was just special effects, but the time is coming and sooner than we all want to accept. It is a great movie that should make people stop and think...the special effects were very good...and little Emmy is just too beautiful.

This was a great entertaining flick! The Cast was great, and acting well done. While the possibility may or may not be far fetched, it gives us all something to think about! It's too bad that Mr. Rusch (see reviews) seems to think the only ones responsible for destroying the planet are Republicans - I imagine, he walks everywhere, and never wears anything other than clothing and shoes made from natural fibers harvested by hand, and eats nothing unless he grew it himself (grown organically of course!)

You can snoot the ax murder that's right behind you, but there's nothing you can do about the weather. An excellent choice.

The Day After Tommorrow keeps you hooked from begginning to end. By far it is the best "end of the world" movies. The plot was superb compared to similar movies. Truly an unforgettable movie. Would recommend to everyone.

Go back to gradeschool English and learn how to construct a story with structure. I'm impressed that people have actually started giving a thought to the environment and the world that Republicans are destroying, but present it in a way that one can finish the movie without his or her eyes bleeding.

Characters:Dennis Quaid as Jack Hall Jake Gyllen Haal as Sam Hall Emmy Rossum as Laura Chapma Sela Ward as Dr. Lucy Hall Becker- Kenneth Welsh as Vice President Ian Holm as Jerry Rapson Dash Mihok as Jason Evans Producer Mark Gordon Rating: PG-13 Release date: May 28 2004 Like a violent twister touching down on a small midwestern town, The Day After Tomorrow hurls moviegoers right into the eye of storm, literally within minutes. As the film opens, climatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) and his field team are researching ice cores in the Antarctic. They are almost killed when a chunk of ice the size of Rhode Island breaks off the Antarctic Ice Shelf. Later in Washington, Jack presents his research , which suggests that in the future, a buildup of carbon dioxide will cause polar ice caps to melt, pouring fresh water into oceans and disrupting the North Atlantic current. Unfortunately, mother nature has her own time table. Because of this , there are three massive super storms that look like they will push the northern part of the US into a new Ice Age--in a matter of days. Finally, when there doesn't seem to be a way to stop the fierce storms, the U.S. government launches full-scale evacuations to south of the boarder. Jack--snowshoes in tow--heads north to save his son Sam (Jake Gyllenhaal), who is stranded with some friends inside the Manhattan Public Library, burning books (much to the dismay of the librarian) to keep warm. The story here isn't exactly deep, introspective stuff and the geographically dispersed characters are simply here as vehicles to advance the plot. The story is littered with disaster movie clichés, including J ack ' s wife who stays behind with her young cancer patient, the autocratic vice president who won't take Jack seriously, and the homeless guy who knows all the tricks to staying warm. The movie was a "must go see".

Jake Hall (Dennis Quaid) is a climatologist who predicts a ice age is coming with in maybe a hundred years, or so. But, shorty into tha movie we see that the weather gets serious and Hall's prediction comes true sooner than he though it would be. As you watch the movie it seeems that the world will be covered in ice and everyone will freeze to death. Jake tries to warn the world before everyone faces a terriable tragedy. His son Sam leaves home to go to Newe York with two friends from school before everything started. they get stuck in New York. others try to leaves because they won't able to survive, but Sam and his friends stay, hoping that they will be rescused. Everyone thinks that the ice age will hit New York directly. This movie is the best. It made me feel excited. It a great combinations of three genre: Action, Thriller, and Drama.

Title: “The Day After Tomorrow” Characters: Jack Hall - Dennis Quaid Sam Hall - Jake Gyllenhaal Laura Chapman - Emmy Rossum Dr. Lucy Hall - Sela Ward Vice President Becker - Kenneth Welsh Terry Rapson - Ian Holm Jason Evans - Dash Mihok Director: Roland Emmerich Producer: Mark Gordon Rating: PG-13 Release Date: May 28th, 2004 Genre: Action, Adventure, and Science Fiction Time: 2 hours and 24 minutes "The Day After Tomorrow" is rated PG-13, however it is a movie that should concern almost anyone. Climatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) believes that problems with global warming have been disregarded over the years and will become real factors in the future, perhaps killing the human race in 1,000 years or more. However, his pleas to worldwide delegates at a conference fall on deaf ears. Of course we all recognize instantly that Hall’s predictions are going to come true at a much more rapid pace. Almost immediately, a whole lot of people find themselves involved in a bizarre destruction pattern of wild weather around the world. Los Angeles experiences twisters, D.C. falls to intense snow and the sub-zero temperatures in temperate areas surprise everyone. New York seems to sink, because of profound floods. Hall's son Sam (Jake Gyllenhall), Emmy, and a group of high school academic competitors and others end up stuck in the city's library. They must stay warm in order to survive. Jake tries to get in contact with his father by calling him from a public phone in the basement. He almost gets stuck in there because it is inundated with water. The US government tries to do its best to get the residents as far south as possible. It appears as if they are invading Mexico, and the government officials are really annoyed about that. Doctor Lucy Hall (Sela Ward ) gets trapped in D.C. while taking care of a patient that has cancer. The people are so frightened that they don’t know what actions to take. In addition to all of the extra challenges Dr. Hall faces, he's also going against all manner of life as they races south to warmer places trying to survive all of the challenges. This is a film that can instruct you a lot about global warming. But it can also seem like a puzzle to you because most of it is not accurate. I take pleasure in watching this movie for the reason that it is a kind of movie that makes you want to keep watching it. If you are interested in films that articulate how human race might vanish, this is the one for you. I recommend this movie to any teenager 13 and older. If I were to rate this movie I would give it four stars. By: Yolanda Sime

The movie The Day After Tomorrow was very interesting . It was a movie that I wouldn't imagine myself going to see in a million years, but we saw it in our science class . The movie is about a scientist who studies the ways weather patterns changed in the past. Professor Adrian Hall (Quaid), tries to save the world from the effects of global warming . He is also trying to get to his son, Sam (Gyllenhaal), who was in New York City as part of a scholastic competition . However, the entire northern hemisphere was overwhelmed by the chilling beginnings of the new Ice Age. In addition to all of the other challenges Dr. Hall faces, he's also going against the flow of all other living things, as they race south to warmer climes, for he is the only one going north.

The day After Tomorrow The characters of the movie are Professor Adrian Hall (Dennis Quaid), Sam Hall (Jake Gyllenhall), Laura Chapman (Emmy Rossum), and Terry Rapsom (Ian Holm). The movie was released in theaters on May 28, 2004. The theme of the movie is sci-fi, horror, action, adventure, and drama, and it is set in present-day New York City. In the movie our Earth is an experiencing and unusual amount of natural disasters. In the beginning the weather changes and it get really cold. At the center of this story there is a paleoclimatologist (a scientist who studies the way weather patterns change), Professor Jack Hall (Quaid), who tries to save the world from the effects of global warming. The characters of the movie are Professor Adrian Hall (Dennis Quaid), Sam Hall (Jake Gyllenhall), Laura Chapman (Emmy Rossum), and Terry Rapsom(Ian Holm). The total amount of time that the movie takes is two hours and four minutes (124 minutes). The movie was rated PG-13 for intense situations of peril. It comes in three different languages, but I watched it in English. The movie released in theaters on May 28, 2004, and I watched it in July 2004. The topic of this movie is based on what might the next ice age be like? We learn that the next ice age will come about in two or three days. In the past scientists believed that it was really supposed to happen in 10 million years. The theme is sci-fi, horror, action, adventure, and drama, and it is set in present-day New York City. T he Earth is a experiencing and unusual amount of natural disasters. Professor Hall is trying to save the Earth while trying to rescue his son from an already freezing New York. In this movie you are always on the edge because you never know what is going to come up next. This movie is totally unpredictable. I would tell you more about the movie but you'll just have to watch it for yourself.

I didn't thought that this movie was going to be like this : just another movie with great special effects. It was 2 hours long, and you saw one big disaster after another in this movie.I didn't knew that something like this could happen in the future. I didn't know that such devestation could be this big. Acording to the movie, the reason for these disasters is global warming. This all happens because of air polution like burning fuel, smoke from factories, and automobiles. In this movie a lot of people died, and a lot of buildings were destroy by tornadoes. The scenes were very wild and out of control. The people didn't knew what to do. People wanted to go down south because of the weather.I guess they didn't thought it was not going to be real cold. Even the birds were going down south and the animal were acting kind of wierd, maybe because of the change of the weather or it could be a warning to the people that something was going to happen. The animals could sense doom before the humans. I thought that this movie was not going to be this interesting. I give this movie a 9 out of 10.

Title: The Day After Tomorrow The main Characters Jack Hall and Sam , are played by the fine actors Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal . Additionally Emmy Rossum, Sela Ward, and Ian Holm are also in this movie. This movie is 123 minutes , filmed in English , and is rat ed PG-13 . I enjoyed the movie because the actors (Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Emmy Rossum, Sela Ward, and Ian Holm) are very excellent and they have a lot of talent. I think the movie was really great. If you ask me on a scale from 1-10 the movie is most definitely a 10. I like the part when Sam was in the cold, cold water calling his dad about to freeze death. The part that was so sad is when the tornado hit and killed all those people. Then when a tidal wave almost wipes out the whole New York City and the entire Northern Hemisphere begins to freeze solid. Sam's brave dad and some workers try to go help Sam. The story took place in New York City, and Los Angeles. This movie shows action, science fiction, and thriller. Jack Hall had to go save his son before he froze to death. Hopefully he made it in time. When Laura Chapman tried to save these people from drowning and freezing to death she got cut and got frost bitten, and was sick. This movie came out in theatre in May 28, 2004 and on DVD in October 12, 2004.

The Day After tommorow was an excellent movie. It was based mainly on the Global Warming affect and the world going into a Ice Age. The main character was a scientist who studied climate. In an impoartant meeting with ambassadors from all over the world he tried to warn the rest of the world of the Global Warming affect, but they would not listen. In the outcome, at an increasing rate, the world went into an Ice Age. There were tornadoes in Los Angeles and hurricanes in New York. The climate scientist had a son who was stuck in New York when the Ice Age began. The Statue of Liberty was knocked down and the city of New York was flooded. The closest place he could run to was the city library. He ran into the library with his friends where they stayed for the next couple of days. The temperatures began to drop quickly. Learning so much from his father, he had to figure out what to do to save himself and whoever else he could.
