Overview

Two ambitious realtors purchase a mansion once owned by a tragic silent film starlet, and discover too late that it comes with a deadly secret in this supernatural shocker from director Charles Band. Reese (Jessica Morris) and Danni (Ariana Madix) are looking for a house to restore and sell when they happen across a Hollywood chateau once owned by Rose Pettigrew (Jean Louise O'Sullivan), a silent-era icon who was dumped by the studios following the transition to sound, and embarked on a suicidal murder rampage that claimed the lives of comic Tubby Fitzgerald (Nihilist Gelo), horror legend Erik Burke (Robert Zachar), and cowboy legend Sonny Barnes (Eric Roberts). Decades later, that dark history still looms heavy in those cavernous hallways. At first Reese and Danni think they've stumbled into the deal of a lifetime. And they couldn't be more right, because this house is haunted, and odds are they'll never live to find anything better.

The Dead Want Women is a great movie for those into old school b-movies. Don't expect award winning acting or effects. Instead, prepare yourself for delicious cheese of a very classic variety. The Dead Want Women delivers all the sleazy thrills it promises.

If you enjoy watching B movies with a early 20th century mood, then this one is for you. It takes place in a mansion, which looks in the middle of Hollywood but at the same time isolated from the real world, starring two naive valley girls. The movie itself is okay, actors are not so serious and it's rather entertaining. Somehow reminds me about the early 30s black & white horror movies, with blonde actresses and exaggerated undead makeup.

Random story, within interior decors, focused on the characters rather than the scenario. Actually, this movie could really have been a tale from The Crypt episode. Apart from a 30 minute format, nothing is missing : gore, nudity, CGI and some black humor. Decent movie and acting in spite of a apparent low budget.

This movie will give you whatever you want to take from it. I, for one, wanted to take a cheesy movie tat allowed me to have a good time and thats exactly what I got. Sit back, relax, and enjoy this somewhat bad movie with a cocktail... or in my case, two or three
