Mixed feelings about this movie, and 2 is the best I could do for a rating. This movie is obviously aimed at a young audience because it follows the prevailing theory in action movies - it's impossible to blow too many things up. If you love special effects, you'll probably like this movie. If you prefer a movie more like Divergent which had virtually no special effects, at least of the pyrotechnic variety, skip this movie. Personally, I can't stand movies which are all about the special effects. To the movie's credit, I liked the Insurgent movie better than the book - although that is a low bar to hurdle because I thought the book was the weakest of the trilogy. It does a good job of advancing the Divergent story without getting bogged down in a lot of teenage angst like the book did, which raised my rating to 2, although it condensed the story so much that it sacrificed depth in character development. All in all, not the worst movie I've ever seen, but a very disappointing sequel to a 5-star Divergent.
