Leonard Maltin wasn't alone when he noticed similarities between Goonies and the 1934 Our Gang comedy Mama's Little Pirate. Adapted by Chris Columbus from a story by Steven Spielberg, the film follows a group of misfit kids (including such second-generation Hollywoodites as Josh Brolin and Sean Astin) as they search for buried treasure in a subterranean cavern. Here they cross the path of lady criminal Mama Fratelli (Anne Ramsey) and her outlaw brood. Fortunately, the kids manage to befriend Fratelli's hideously deformed (but soft-hearted) son (John Matuszak), who comes to their rescue. The Spielberg influence is most pronounced in the film's prologue and epilogue, when the viewer is advised that the film's real villains are a group of "Evil Land Developers." The musical score makes excellent use of Max Steiner's main theme from The Adventures of Don Juan, not to mention contributions by the likes of Richard Marx and Cyndi Lauper.

I first saw "The Goonies" on tv, and I fell in love with it. No one can hate this movie, I mean, Brand is hot, and Mouth is awsome! This movie is like, better than "The Bench Warmers" Who would hates "The Goonies"? Buy this movie!
Goonies has become a Classic Family Movie. The characters are diverse and lovable. The villians are insane and lethal. The adventure superb. The Goonies are a group of oddballs - Mikey, Brand, Mouth, Chunk, and Data. They discover a treasure map, that leads the way to the treasure ship of a legendary Pirate - One eyed Willy. Shortly after they begin their treasure hunt they're joined by 2 girls - Andi and Stef. To begin the quest they enter a tunnel, beneath an abandoned restaurant. Too late do realize the restaurant was a hide out for a family of outlaws - the Fratellis. The Goonies journey through sewers, into a wishing well, and descend into caverns. Willy had left several Booby Traps along the way. Finally finding Willy's ship in an enclosed grotto. The Fratellis pursuing every step of the way, and nearly catching them several times.
this movie rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Words cannot even express how much I have always loved this movie. I have been watching this movie since I was a kid, and it is without a doubt one of my absolute favorite movies of all time! I have never gotten tired of this movie. It's a fun adventure with some great comical moments in it. And Sloth, haha...so great! "Heeeeeeey yooouuu guuuuuys!" LoL, love it! If you have never seen this movie, then friend...you are missing out! I look forward to upgrading this to the special 25th anniversary blue ray edition soon! XD Long live the classics!
One of my favorite quotes from the movie and scene where the kids don't want to continue the search for the treasure at first, then Mikey convinces them they should. Love this movie ever since I first saw it on TV. A group of kids: Mikey, Brandon, Steph, Mouth, Andy, Data and Chunk set out to find treasure from a treasure map they find. But they're not the only ones who're looking for the treasure as well. Liked the story and there were some pretty good acting by the main characters. There were some hilarious and emotional moments. Who doesn't remember Chunk and the truffle shuffle? Wish more movies were like this. One of the better adventure movies, for kids anyway. Great ending to a great classic, for new and old fans. Love live the Goonies!
This movie is one of my all time favorites. The characters are strange but hysterical. It'll have you quoting lines for years to come... literally.
This is without a doubt the best movie I have ever seen. It brings out the kid in all of us. No matter how many times I watch it is always like watching it for the first time. I would recomend it to everyone.
Very cute adventure movie - I saw it when I was a kid and now that I am in my 30s it seems a little bit cornier, yet a great flick. It's a timeless underdog-triumphs type of film. Check it out!
Goonies will always be ''THEE'' most awesome movie I've ever seen!!! I'm actually watching it right now!!!!!
One of my most favorite stay at home sick from work or rainy Sunday afternoon movies.
This is definetly a movie that everyone should see. The characters make the movie so much better. I have watched this movie at least 20 + times. I just can't get enough! If anyone is debating on a good movie to go and see THE GOONIES is definetly it. This movie should be passed down from generation to generation.
This is the ultimate in kids movies. I have seen the movie too many times to count and everytime it is better than the last!! Ever since I first saw the movie I have had a huge crush on Sean Astin!!

Am I the only one who thinks that Kerri Green is the ultimate hottie? Her orange hair makes me tingly all over!
This movie is so good! The characters are all funny and likable but Chunk is definitely the best. No one is too young or too old for the Goonies.
This is one of the best action/adventure movies I have ever seen. It has such a great all-star cast including:sean astin(rudy, lord of the rings)corey feldman(lost boys, stand by me)key hi kuan(indiana jones and the temple of doom)
This is still the best movie ever but not sold any more in holland so i think to buy a regio free dvd and buy the US version of it i need to do something to have this great ''oldtimer''. D.Wessels Holland
This movie is probably one of the best the 80's has to offer, and with the deleted scenes, you can't go wrong!! This is my faveortie movie
I just saw the Goonies tonight and just spent an hour online looking at some Goonies web sites because The Goonies is the greatest movie of all time...plus Corey Feldman is soooo cute in this movie! I highly recomend buying this movie!
this is a kind a movie that you can put yourself in and go along with the adventure. I mean I just did not want it end so I watch it over and over again. It rocks!!
I grew up in the 80's and this is by far my favorite movie from back then! What's not to love about director Steven Spielberg, music by Cyndi Lauper, and of course all of the goonies! I don't know if it should be rated PG. Because of some of the content I think it would be better for 13 and older. Watch and see all the special effects that are not just created by using a computer, like it is done today. It is a funny, feel good movie!
