The Grateful Dead Movie has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.77:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic play on 16 x 9 monitors. The audio has been presented in two formats -- a Dolby Digital Stereo mix based on Jerry Garcia's original mix and a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround mix created from the original multi-track recordings. The songs are performed in English, with no multiple language options, though "visible lyrics" are available for all the tunes. Bonus materials include an additional 95 minutes of performance footage, transferred from the original camera negatives; a gallery of photos, notes on the production, promotional stills, and more; short documentaries on the making of the film, the creation of Gary Gutierrez's animated sequences, and the creation of this DVD edition; a television commercial for the album The Grateful Dead at the Mars Hotel; and a 24-page booklet with notes from Grateful Dead historian Dennis McNally.

    Not a DVD

The movie is actually a blu-ray and not a DVD. Bought this thinking it was DVD as there is no mention of blu-ray on b&n ... Have been wanting to see the movie!!!

The first scene was the best fry cartoon ever

If your a dead fan you will love this video. And if your a fry baby your going to love the opening cartoon sooooo much. I dubbed the same cartoon on a two hour cassette to replay it over and over and over. happy times
