I heard a lot of people complain that Seth Rogen wasn't the right guy for this part, but I have to say that I disagree. This isn't a "serious" or "dark" superhero movie, it's an action comedy. Seth plays Britt Reed Jr, son of a newspaper publisher who takes over the paper after his father's death. He really isn'
t interested in running a newspaper, so he develops a super hero persona so that he can go out and fight crime. The catch is, he doesn't want the public to view him as a hero, he wants to be hated by the good guys and back guys alike. The problem with that is, eventually everybody is out to get him and his more talented side-kick, Kto. Good fun movie. Patrick James, author of The Preacher Man.

A disappointing but O.K. flick, highlighted by the Bruce-Lee type action of actor Jay Chou.

Actor Seth Rogen could not match up with the TV-series Green Hornet character, played by Van Williams. Williams was suave and sophisticated, much like James Bond. And this is where the movie version of the Green Hornet falters a bit. The story has an innocent beginning: A cherub-cheeked boy, Britt Reed Jr.,who dreams of being a super hero someday, gets his wish as an adult, when his father, Britt Reed Sr., who owns a publishing company, suddenly dies. Britt Jr. comes to the helm of the company but knows nothings about the business. He plays the part of an immature party-going loser who wastes his life on cheap liquor and cheaper women, so the part he plays as a crime-fighting hero is hardly believable. What keeps the story interesting is Kato, the Black Beauty (which has as much gadgets as 007's sleek sport's car, and the main villian, played by Christoph Waltz. Jay Chou, who plays Kato, beats up plenty of bad guys, even the Green Hornet himself¿ a scene that really wasn't necessary. All in all, this Green Hornet version could've been a much better movie, but the producer and writer thought a dorky Green Hornet character would work. It didn't

Nothing will replace the classic Green Hornet stuff, but this was not a bad modern day movie recreation. The critics & such didn't really much care for it, but I personally thought it was quite entertaining...it was clever and had some good humor and action throughout. I felt it was a worth-while Blu-Ray purchase. Great movie if you're into graphic novel/comic book type stuff and/or are an action movie buff. I am very much into both...and I enjoy good humor as well. If you fall into any of those categories of taste in movies, you would more than likely find this movie quite enjoyable.
