Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble
More than a half century after its debut, I Love Lucy still reigns as the most important -- and perhaps the funniest -- situation comedy ever to grace the airwaves. Aside from being a perfect vehicle for the sheer comic genius of Lucille Ball, the show firmly established the sitcom template that remains the television standard to this day. I Love Lucy: 50th Anniversary Special is a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the series, including interviews with both writers and directors, plus clips from the Top 10 I Love Lucy episodes selected by fans. Celebs such as Antonio Banderas, Cher, Andy Garcia and Arturo Sandoval weigh in on the show's influence, and Sandoval joins Jorge Moreno for a performance of "Babalu" as part of a tribute to Desi Arnaz's Latin heritage.

    Watched it More Than Once...

I've certainly loved Lucy for as long as I can remember...this special has aired on CBS three times, and I have not only watched it every time, I've watched my VHS copy as well. Lucy hasn't lost her touch, even now- who needs new things when you have classic Lucy? This is informative, and amazing, and having her children be a part of it is /definitely/ fitting.
