The Invisibles

( 1 )

Overview

Noah Stern's drama about a rock star and a model dealing with fame and drug addiction, Invisibles, comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of the film. The English soundtrack is decent, but not outstanding. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, making this Vangurad release unlikely to widen the audience of this little-seen film.

    THIS MOVIE ROCKS!

I couldn't take my eyes and ears away from this movie for a second. Both main actors give outstanding performances that range from the simplest facial expresions to full on powerhouse sections of line delivery. They play off of each other with such a beautiful passion that flip-flops from the childlike to the 'how am I suppose to be an adult in such a messed up world?' Each taking the time to give and receive. Michael is truly one of my favorite actors (whom I would love to work with, as a fellow actor) and I would love him in anything, yet you don't even need to know who either of these actors are to get something life altering out of this film. And doesn't that truly make a piece of art?! Plus the 'animal rights friendly-pizza guy' was perfect, not only in acting but in what he has to say and teach. I couldn't suggest that you watch this movie more. I bought it after only one viewing and get something out of it each and every time I watch/listen to it. This is what indie-film making is all about and why I love art films so much. Plus a shout out to the set up of the shots, the simple sets-yet outstanding and complex at the same time, the idea of shooting it in black and white and the music, of which is just as important to the story as the two main players. Everyone who helped make this film shows you that they had a vision to share with us and don't let us down. This is one of those pieces of film that actually make you feel better when it's over than when it started. Rare now-a-days. I would love to see/do this on stage. Take the time to see this movie. Bravo!
