Fifty years and counting, this is a show that is in the memory of many forever...the legendary performance of Yul Brynner, the elegance of Deborah Kerr in her whirling hoopskirts...the beautiful Rodgers and Hammerstein score conducted Alfred Newman...A bit innacurate historically? Well, yes...But it is still a feast for the eyes and ears.

I've loved this musical since I was a child..and was happy to get a personal copy. Yul Brynner is excellent..the whole storyline is beautiful and the raw connection between Anna and the King is magical.

I thought this movie was fantastic. I could watch it over and over again. If the tape wears out I'll just purchase another one. Yul Brynnner's part of the King of Siam will always be remembered. He was a 'King' in his own right.

I was brought up on this movie when I was a child. It is a wonderful love story, Yul plays a magnificent king. I could see why they brought him to the screen to reprise his role. And for that he won an oscar. The part of Anna, should have gone to someone else. But at this moment I cannot think of anyone. But, Marni Nixon does a lovely voice over. I seriously insist that when you get this movie, you will love all the songs. The most enchanting part is the love that you see the king expressing over Anna. Which is seen the most in the dancing scene. Like I, years later, love this musical, and hoping soon I get it in the DVD quality. I find myself singing songs from it still.

The film is magnificent! Yul Brynner shines in his role as the king, portraying arrogance yet pathos. Music is delightful
