Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
The dinosaurs are once again on the move, as Littlefoot and his "longneck" brethren discover they've been having the same "sleep stories" about the "great circle" in the sky. They are compelled to travel to parts unknown to witness what they hope is "something wonderful." Meanwhile, Littlefoot's non-longneck friends -- Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike -- embark on an adventure of their own as they track their friend. This ninth made-for-video follow-up to The Land Before Time would seem to have benefited from an animation-budget increase: The colors are vivid, and several of the sequences are of theatrical quality. Lending welcome vocal support are Bernadette Peters as the friendly dinosaur Sue, who joins the migration; James Garner as the avuncular Pat (who befriends Cera and company); and Keifer Sutherland as Littlefoot's long-lost father. "Migration" is a benchmark in this often underachieving series. Although this is not the place to actually learn about dinosaurs, preschoolers have taken these anthropomorphic characters to heart. And since our narrator promises "more adventures to come," it appears that there’s lots of Land Before Time to go.

    They are missing something important

Ok, I for one absolutely LOVE Land Before Time, but after #5 they started kinda creeping slowly downhill... oh, well, I'll still have to watch them forever.... Anyway, my biggest complaint about this movie was the character they were missing. Who all remebers Ali, the girl longneck in #4? Well, as she is a longneck, and as it was a longneck migration, where was she? I like Ali! If they would have remembered to put her in (and I really think they were planning on it, because in the end of #4, the announcing dude says...'And little foot and his friends would indeed see Ali again someday, but that's another story' (exact quote, I think) so shouldn't this have been the 'other story'???????? I really wish she'd been in this one... maybe she'll come back in another one. I sure hope so. Oh, and by the way, I'm 13, and so is my friend, and we both love Land Before Time, so they're ok for older kids, too. Ok?

HOW MANY DO THEY HAVE TO MAKE!?!?!?

ok, i grew up watching the first one and I thought that would be it. As this one is the TENTH one, I still can't believe this series is still around. Like the Final Fantasy games, Land Before Time is going on and on. But as animation goes, i am not a big fan of cartoons (American Animation) as I am with Anime (Japanese Animation), but the quality of the animation in this chapter of the Land Before Time tops the others, as Cel animation is used. As for they voice cast, I thought it was done ALOT more better than the other 8, not counting the first, and who knew Kiefer Sutherland was going to be Littlefoot's dad?
