    Please don't get this

If you seen Avatar the last airbender cartoon..... chances are you are going to get really frustrated with this movie. The names are not pronounced right and some of the special affects are off with the actual action (ex: when Katara waterbends she lifts her hand but the water moves many seconds later) I admit the fight scenes are good but the overall quality of the characters are not as good as the cartoon. If you watch this before you start watching the cartoon, please don't compare them because the cartoon is way better.

RE: THE LAST AIRBENDER - EXCELLENT MOVIE!

I completely disagree with "mizqt26! Of course it's a little different from the cartoons - it's not a cartoon! This movie is much more serious; action packed, and the special effects are awesome!

I literally cried at the end when he accepted his role as the Avatar. His facial expression was perfect.

I owne all 3 seasons of the cartoons and I love them too; but the movie is much more believable.

I cannot wait until they come out with the next one!

    Trapped in Time.

Avatar: The Last Airbender was a little somewhat like the movie The Matrix in some of the special effects. This DVD was great for males and youth. Has the good versus evil storyline with some expected script lines, and some easy to figure out storyline outcomes, yet it was still a decent DVD. Nice special effects and plenty of action and daring make this DVD fair to good. :) :)

    It was amazing anyway

I have to admit that I did not appreciate this movie properly the first time through. Usually I only watch martial arts movies because I like the choreography (which was good in this instance). This time I watched to decide whether my grandson would like it. On watching it with him and my daughter later, I followed the story line much better and enjoyed the many deeper multicultural elements, whether Chinese, Indian, or American. I had also caome to realize that it was an adaptation of a Nickelodeon series of cartoons. Had I known that the first time I probably never would have watched it at all. Given all that, I feel it was an excellent adaptation and well worthy of M. Night Shyamalan.

    Bridget's Review

The Last Airbender staring Dev Patel and Noah Ringer and directed by M. Night Shyamalan is an adventure film that takes place in a fantasy world. There are different tribes and each has the ability to control one of four elements: air, water, earth and fire. The "Avatar" is the one person who can control all four at the same time.

The Avatar disappeared and many believed that he was dead. When a brother and sister find a boy frozen in ice, they soon learn that the Avatar is alive and it doesn't take long before the three join together to change the fate of their world. The Fire Nation King is determined to rule over all the tribes and the only one with the power to stop him is the Avatar. Their journey with be difficult but they are determined to fight for their freedom.

The special effects were amazing. I was very impressed with the scenery and fight scenes. Watching the elements crash into the enemy was a lot of fun. I didn't get to see it in 3D but I'm sure it's even better than watching the 2D version.

The acting was good. I would have liked to have gotten to know the main characters better but that didn't keep me from enjoying this movie.

I absolutely loved this movie. If you like fantasy and adventure, this is a must see movie. Plus, they left the ending open, so I'm expecting a sequel.
