Cast: Daniel Nearing
Director Daniel Nearing employs experimental filmmaking techniques to adapt author Sherwood Anderson's seminal short story collection Winesburg, Ohio to the screen, replacing the rural, predominately white characters with urban African-Americans from Chicago while telling the tale of an aging author whose memories and dreams merge as he lies dying in his bed.

It's been said that Sherwood Anderson's "Winesburg, Ohio" is unadaptable to film. Well, having read the book, and watching this movie....it's a pretty damn good try! I can't rate it exceptional because it's obviously not a big Hollywood studio film with A list actors and a huge budget or whatever, but they hit the major characters from the book and I can tell they had to consolidate a few characteristics from others, I'm guessing for time and budget constraints but, hey, good job overall!
