    POWERFUL.. AND BEAUTIFUL SIAM...

I HAVE SEEN THIS MOVIE 7 TIMES.. CURRENTLY LIVING HERE IN BANGKOK AND TRAVELLING THROUGH OUT THE COUNTRY HAS GIVEN ME A SENSE OF APPRECIATION FOR THIS FILM. I ACTUALLY SAW THE ORIGINIAL VCD VERSION ( 3:07 min ) 5 TIMES. HAVING SAID ALL THAT, THE MOVIE IS WORTH SEEING IF FOR NO OTHER REASON TO SEE THE PERIOD CLOTHING, WEAPONS, ANIMALS AND THE CUSTOMS OF THE TIMES IN SIAM. THE FIRST TIME I SAW THE MOVIE I WAS OVERWHELM WITH SO MUCH COMING AT ME FROM THE SCREEN. IT IS DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHO IS WHO AND WHAT KING IS IN POWER.. EVEN MY THAI FRIENDS HAD DIFFICULITY IN KEEPING EVERYTHING SORTED OUT AS THE MOVIE MOVED ALONG. ONCE YOU SEE THE MOVIE, YOU'LL SEE WHY YOU NEED TO SEE IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE AND UNDERSTAND. I UNDERSTOOD MORE ABOUT SIAM AND THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE WE KNOW AS ' THAI ' TODAY. GO RENT IT AND SIT BACK AND ENJOY SIAM AS IT WAS IN 1528!

    An EXCELLENT selection!

I just rented this DVD from my local video store. I have traveled to Thailand and had learned that Thailand is one of the only countries that has not been ruled by any other country. I saw the cover of this movie and had to get it! I am so happy I got it. It may be a little confusing (when kings change) but it is an excellent movie with wonderful costumes and I felt like I was transported into 16th century Siam. If you enjoy movies...you WILL enjoy this!
