Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble
Even 100 million years after their heyday, dinosaurs simply never go out of style. The Lost World, an A&E adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic adventure tale, is a terrifying trip to a bygone era that refuses to be a bygone era -- at least on one uncharted South American plateau. Recalling the blockbuster Jurassic Park trilogy from Steven Spielberg and Michael Crichton the second episode of which borrowed Doyle's title, this journey into danger stars Bob Hoskins stars as Professor Challenger, the leader of an Amazonian expedition who hopes to walk with dinosaurs. Since the digital effects here are by the magician who made Walking with Dinosaurs, we know Hoskins will get his wish, and more. Soon, the team's thrill of the discovery is eclipsed by its desperate struggle for survival amid creatures that are much bigger and nastier than originally expected. In addition to the always superb Hoskins, The Lost World also features Peter Falk and Tom Ward. The DVD boasts more than two hours of bonus footage, including a making-of featurette and Dinosaur Secrets Revealed, a feature-length look at the Jurassic world.

    The Lost World Review

I saw the last half of this on television, and liked it so much that I stayed up until four in the morning watching the reshowing of it to see the entire thing. I intend to buy it soon, so I can see it again. The story line is great, and it keeps you interested the whole way through.
