After creating an international sensation with the visually dazzling and intellectually challenging sci-fi blockbuster The Matrix, the Wachowski brothers returned with the first of two projected sequels that pick up where the first film left off. Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) have been summoned by Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) to join him on a voyage to Zion, the last outpost of free human beings on Earth. Neo and Trinity's work together has been complicated by the fact the two are involved in a serious romantic relationship. Upon their arrival in Zion, Morpheus locks horns with rival Commander Lock (Harry J. Lennix) and encounters his old flame Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith). Meanwhile, Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) has returned with some surprises for Neo, most notably the ability to replicate himself as many times as he pleases. Neo makes his way to The Oracle (Gloria Foster), who informs him that if he wishes to save humankind, he must unlock "The Source," which means having to release The Key Maker (Randall Duk Kim) from the clutches of Merovingian (Lambert Wilson). While Merovingian refuses to cooperate, his wife, Persephone (Monica Bellucci), angry at her husband's dalliances with other women, offers to help, but only in exchange for a taste of Neo's affections. With The Keymaker in tow, Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus are chased by Merovingian's henchmen: a pair of deadly albino twins (Neil Rayment and Adrian Rayment). Filmed primarily in Australia and California (the extended chase scene was shot on a stretch of highway build specifically for the production outside of San Francisco), The Matrix Reloaded was produced in tandem with the third film in the series, The Matrix Revolutions.

This second part in the trilogy is awesome. The special effects are better, and the action scenes are phenominal.
I can't wait until this movie comes out on DVD. The movie was awesome! If you liked The Matrix you will love the sequel!
This movie is packed with special effects and high impact fight scenes a must buy for anyone who liked the first! Its nice to watch a movie that you have no idea how its gonna end and craving to watch the sequel
Some people said that it was boring, too long, or dumb. But for the true Matrix fan, it was the best movie ever. If you havent seen this movie you've been living in a hole.
The Matrix Reloaded is the best movie ever! Its action is unbelievable! This Movie beats the original! YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!
i'll give it 5 stars for animation and for the action sequences. but the rest doesn't deserve half as much because as the first one you are drawn into a world with a new concept and such. this movie is just a long version of basically nothing. i mean, if you are all for the eye candy, you'll love the fighting. otherwise, for a story it has no comparison because what it once was taken from -ghost in the shell- it has completely left behind. the fact that they distributed parts of the whole into the animatrix, enter the matrix game, and a part 3, shows that they dont know much about summing up a greater story to get the most important facts into one and then leaving the unimportant out. oh well, im still going to see the matrix revolutions to get understand the ending a little better, but lets hope the portrayal will be much improved.
The most butt-kicking movie with the greatest soundtrack ever.
The Matrix Reloaded is a non-stop, thrill packed ride all the way to the very abrupt ending. Keanu ''knows his Kung-fu'' and Carrie Ann Moss is amazing, once again, as Trinity. I can't wait to see the making of the Chase Scene!
Let me say this if you loved the first martix, the first matrix is nothing compared to the sequal. Thats all that needs to be said
You take your favorite movie and this will beat it. The Wachowski brothers put their heart and soul in this story and it's shown throughout the movie. A must buy.
this is the best movie yet. The special effects are mind blowing, with unmatchable style. It is better than the first, and I hear that the thrid is supposed to be even better.
If you loved The Matrix you will love the sequel. This movie is action-packed. Same original cast that delivers the best! This reveals a lot about ''The One'' and the matrix.
One of the greatest movies of all time. Much better than the first. The action scenes are amazing and its like they never stop. Non-stop action.
This was the most action packed movie ever made, and the special effects were the best I've ever seen, However the plot was a little hard to understand.
I was out of the country when The Matrix Reloaded came out in theaters, so I had to wait to see it 5 months longer than my friends back home. While I was away, they told me about some of the bad hype that Reloaded had gotten, and some said that it was a let down. Before actually seeing the movie, I took time to read some reviews, most of them including comments like ''it's just not the same the second time around'', or ''I was waiting to be blown away like I was when I watched the original'', and stuff like that. It seemed to me that these people simply either didn't like sequels, or weren't aware that The Matrix Reloaded was part of a trilogy. I thought, with the exception of two scenes, that Reloaded was a masterpeice. Between the action scenes and the plot twists, it maintains a level of tension constantly throughout the movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I did have to watch it several times just to be sure I really did get what the Architect was saying at the end, but the fact that it was so difficult to grasp made it all the more exciting. I can't wait for Revolutions!
The Matrix Reloaded pulls off more impressive visuals than the original with a more intense storyline. This time, the stakes are a lot higher. The plot is a lot thicker. The fights are more mind blowing than the original and the acting is better. We meet new characters and learn more about the ones that make a returning appearance. A new look is pulled off and the fight scenes are better. The digital animation is more improved and the movie is just plain bigger than the original. The plot thickens and gets more complex. That could be a good thing or a bad thing. A major problem with this movie is that the plot gets extremely confusing at times and it leaves us sratching our heads. The Man In White that we meet at the close to end mark, makes everything more and more confusing. Most of his dialogue is confusing and it makes not immediate sense. What we learn in the first film is completely changed by what we hear from the Man In White. Plus, the dialogue is way too long for an action movie like this. It got too long that it began to get boring. The tacked on cliff hanger makes everything even more confusing. The long-winded dialogue and the tacked on cliff hanger make this film not as good as the original. The film is still very good concerning the films that came out this year so far. This film was great. But it doesn't match the original. IT is still a movie that I recommend that others see and even own.
A good sequel to a great movie. What more can I say? Quite a bit. Unlike a lot of moviegoers who wrote reviews for this movie, I thought the first one was better. Probably because the story didn't revolve around Trinity and Neo so much, I don't know. Unlike what some people have said, ''The Animatrix'' answers a lot of questions about ''Reloaded'' (I'm not gonna tell you, you gotta see for yourself!) Another way to understand the movie better is to play(or in my case, cheat)your way through the video game ''Enter the Matrix''. Otherwise for people like me, the flick makes no sense! On a sidenote, the last cutscene on ''Enter the Matrix'' includes some clips from the next and final installment, ''the Matrix Revolutions''. If you haven't seen TV ads yet, I highly recommend you cheat or play your way up to this scene. Then you'll see why I think ''Revolutions'' is going to be the best movie of the trilogy!
Just one word to describe matrix, AMAZING
The matrix trilogy is awesome i cant wait until the third. You havent seen anything until you've seen this movie.
This movie blew my mind away, if you loved the first the second is way better.
The new matrix film entirely lacked as compelling a plot as the original, introduced characters that lacked chemistry with others and was made specifically to make your jaw drop at the amazing yet shallow special effects
Forget finding Nemo. Let the Terminator run California. Kick back and cruise into the world that is the Matrix Reloaded. Brilliantly conceived, beautifully shot and choreographed, with an awesome cast (including knockout artist Roy Jones Jr.). See it again this coming tuesday!
Special effects are great, the plotline is great, and the characters are wonderfull!!
The Matrix movie was great, but this surpasses it by a mile. The effects are great!
