Overview

The DVD version of The Mexican comes with a widescreen anamorphic format (2.35:1 theatrical aspect ratio) and the following audio options: English (DTS Surround Sound and Dolby Digital 5.1), with English subtitles and closed-captioning also available. Special or bonus features that come with this DVD include a feature-length audio commentary by the film's director, some footage that did not appear in the original theatrical release (with an audio commentary included), a "making of" featurette, some production notes, and the usual theatrical trailers. While picture quality is fairly good, sound quality is astonishing in its resonance, sharpness, and clarity (some of this enhanced and amplified by the DTS Surround Sound).

Editorial Reviews

New York Times - Stephen Holden
It is a screwball road film whose plot skids through a succession of cleverly placed hairpin turns as it juggles goofy fantasy, light social commentary and off-kilter violence…In stealing the movie from its attractive co-stars, Mr. Gandolfini does them a favor by allowing them to relax. Although Ms. Roberts is as winsome as ever…In the wacky, goofy, peripatetic, therapy-besotted world of Mobsters Who Love Antique Pistols and the Women Who Love Them, they're O.K., I'm O.K., you're O.K., and everyone's O.K. But this is Hollywood, after all. And with Julia and Brad and the new-and-improved Tony Soprano linking arms, how could it be otherwise?

OK, I think this movie is utter **ap. Roberts and Pitt give the term ''Overacting'' a whole new meaning. James Gandolfini on the other hand is genius. His scenes with Julia Roberts are excellent and very funny. I love this guy. I think it's still worth getting this dvd just for the scenes with Mr. Gandolfini it.

That s because this was where I saw him with bewildered, wide-eyed looks. Seen the scene where he stopped for the red light in the middle of nowhere only to realize that there was no traffic and he started looking both ways before he inched his car forward? Cute acting though, i.e so different from his role in the Ocean movies, Troy, etc. As for Julia Roberts, well, she's Julia Roberts. I think the movie has the perfect mix for a cast, plus it has a good story so still, I think it's great and I do recommend it.

Of course I watched it- Brad Pitt was in it! But the movie wasn't great. There's only, like, one funny part I remember and the rest of the movie blah-ed me.
