    Skeptics: Read This

    Before I watched the first season of The Office, I had randomly seen an episode or two from future seasons and was not that impressed, but curious enough to buy the first season on a whim. This turned out to be one of my best purchases in a decade, because starting fresh from the very beginning of the show made all the difference in the world. You cannot, I repeat CANNOT start watching this show from the middle or you will be completely lost and even very annoyed. Start with this season and you too will be hooked and will feel obligated to own the other seasons. Also on an important note: The deleted scenes are not like other deleted scenes in movies where they were cut out because they were dumb. Many of them are funnier than actual clips that were aired, but they just didn't fit in the time-frame. Warning: This show may not be for everyone, but if you give it a fair try and don't like it, don't mention it to anyone for your very life's sake, because we Office "flans" will hunt you down and tickle you with fluffy fingers until you laugh.

    Question: Why aren't you watching this show?

    The Office is my #1 favorite show ever!!! Why? There are so many reasons and not enough time to list them all. For one thing, the show takes place in Scranton, PA and despite Joe Biden giving Scranton a bad rep (at least on SNL) that place is awesome. Then there are the amazingly fantastic characters played by the amazingly fantastic actors and actresses. These characters are so realistic. Everyone has an Angela in their life and a Michael and some lucky few even have a Jim. My personal favorite character is Pam played by the talented Jenna Fischer. Her facial expressions are perfect reactions to any situation. Anyway, I know this show isn't for everyone and I'm sure some would consider the comedy harsh at times. The world is harsh, though, and The Office allows you to laugh in the face of such harshness. You'll be sure to replay the episodes again and again. I know I have.

    An Amazing Comedy

    I love this show. I am a hopelessly devoted flan and can't say enough great things about it. It isn't for everyone. It is a dry humor most of the time and the best part of the show is the cast as a whole. The reaction shots are the reason to watch. All I can say is that you have to watch it to understand fully.

    Great satire about the American workplace

    My office job requires me to work Thursday nights and my biggest regret is that I miss "The Office." But I catch up with it as much as I can on NBC.com. The incompetent boss, corporate gobblegook, gossiping co-workers are all part of the workaday world with which most wage slaves can not only identify but love to see lampooned.

    fresh funny

    I only recently caught an episode of the Office and thought it was a pretty good show due to the lack of glamour and laugh track. Now, this may seem quite un-attractive to say, but let me explain. This series has an absolutely wonderful ensemble cast. The characters and situations revolve around a quite boring mundane idea: a paper-selling office. BUT, the characters and so-wrong-it's-funny situations they seem to find themselves in are what garner the laughs. It's a sad-but-true kind of funny. Awkward silences and dorky characters make this series shine. You don't have characters that think they're funny and want you to laugh with them. You've got characters that you'll laugh AT, yet still like as people, for some weird inexplicable reason. also, to note there's no untasteful gross sex humor. at least in the episodes that I've seen so far. and I appreciate that. all in all, a good buy. you just shouldn't expect punch lines and glitzy glamour. it's simple. it's mundane. it's all good. not everyone will like it, I'm sure, but if it's your kind of humor, it'll shine like no other.

    Not funny

    I bought he series amidst rave reviews. No laughs from me yet. I'm deterined to make it through the first season but after 2 episodes it feels like a trip to the dentist when I sit down to watch. There must be something there with so many rave reviews but I don't see it.

    Hilarious and sadly true

    This show rocks! I LOVE this DVD. If you are in your late 20s or early 30s and have ever had a dull office job yet worked with quirky people and had an incompetent boss, you will love this! This is not in your face funny, it's more like sad but true funny, yet there are some hilarious moments, mostly invovling Jim and Dwight.

    A great buy

    This show is hilarious. Along with the six episodes of the first season, you get a bunch of extra features. The deleted scenes for each episode are long and like mini-episodes. There are also a bunch of commentaries on several episodes by the cast and writers. The show is hilarious in it's subtle comedy.

    Office = Outstanding!

    For all of you who haven't seen The Office, buy the DVD and give it a try! It has offbeat, sarcastic humor and is surprisingly realistic and all of the actors are so hilarious in their respectful roles. Seriously, this is an understated TV show that deserves to be watched and enjoyed! Poka!

    What a DVD!

    This is a must buy. This show makes me laugh so hard. It's got a lot of great episodes. I wish it had bloopers. But other than that, it's a great DVD! Buy it.
