    Breathtaking

The ability of this film to draw out different emotions from the viewer is it's strength. Was life really once like that? How possessive could the general be?? It's shocking when the horse betrays him and he cannot accept it. Ambrose Bierce is wonderful and mysterious. I loved it.

    A confusing tale

I couldn't make out who Harriet was in love with, first the general and the Bierce. But the acting was of impecable quality. They truly knew how to bring life to their characters.
