Overview

From 1963 to 1966, American audiences were treated to the weekly comic hijinks of identical twin cousins, Patty Lane -- a normal American teenager living in Brooklyn Heights, New York -- and Cathy Lane, her Scottish cousin freshly arrived in the United States to finish her secondary schooling. Patty Duke, already an Academy Award-Winner for her role in The Miracle Worker, played the roles of both girls. The Patty Duke Show immediately won over television audiences and ran for three fun-filled seasons, totaling 104 hilarious episodes. For the first time, all 26 episodes, including the show's rare pilot, are available on DVD in this six-disc set!

Watching this show was so much fun! I was only 7yrs.old when this show was on TV, but I remember thinking I wanted to be a teenager just like Patty Duke. My 19yr.old daughter watched it with me and she enjoyed it, too. I couldn't believe I still remember all the words to the theme song and found myself singing along everytime we watched it. Now I can hardly wait to see season 2 in 2010! Some of the teenage slang they used was unfamiliar to me, but it didn't lessen my enjoyment of the show.

It was so much fun watching this early 1960's comedy. It is not often seen in reruns on TV, so if you want to see it, this DVD is for you. It can seem a little dated at times, but it is a fun look into teen life in that era. Many familiar faces appear such as Paul Lynde, as a "standardized testing" teacher in school. Patty Duke was a natural in the parts, and if you catch her recent commercials for Social Security once again playing the parts of Patty & Cathy, you can see the show must have meant something special to her. This DVD can be enjoyed by the whole family- good, clean old fashioned fun!
