    Don't Miss It

I read the book about 7-years ago. Since I don't get Starz, I just bought the DVD after Ken Follett sent me an e-mail (I am a member of his fan club). The book was fantastic. The DVD is fantastic, too, but for different reasons. The book is full of details about building the cathedral in Kingsbridge, a very interesting subject, but the DVD is lauded for the visual quality and great characters that really make Ken's book a classic anyway. So I recommend both the book and the DVD, just for different reasons.

Can't wait until World Without End is made into visual media. I'll line up to buy that one.

I loved viewing this series by Ken Follett. It's filled with lot

I loved viewing this series by Ken Follett. It's filled with lots of action, intrigue & mystery. I'm now a HUGE fan of Ken Follett's work, so I'm looking forward to the rest of this Trilogy, along with his other Trilogy, FALL OF GIANTS!! If you love historical novels, you will want to definitely read his books & the movies are fantastic!!! ;)

    I Also Recommend:

Not bad for what it is. Recommend to read the book first though.

For someone who is very interested in watching this 8 part mini series I highly recommend reading the book first.

Now that I got that out of the way, I found the screen adaptation of this book quite interesting. All the characters (except for Earl Bartholomew??? I think that was his name) all looked very close to how I imagined them when I was reading the book. However there a few of those annoyances with the movie. For instance all of that stuff that happens with the old king in the beginning where he gets poisoned and die's and that's how King Stephen comes to power, I don't recall reading that in the book. I also wish that they would start the movie with the starting of a book which started out with a hanging taking place of Jack Jackson's father instead of the whole thing with the burning at the stake. and what not. But these are just small annoyances, I did find myself very much engaged with the series. Definitely a great boxset to pass the time with watching a good movie though.
