Overview

Penny Marshall directs Oscar-winner Denzel Washington and diva Whitney Houston in The Preacher's Wife, which comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Supplemental materials are limited to trailers. This is a decent disc from Disney/Buena Vista, but it certainly is less than it might be. The film this movie is based on, The Bishop's Wife, is also available on DVD.

I can't wait until christmas to see the movie. Penny Marshall did justice to the original. A must see!

This movie is entertaining from the very beginning, with a well known cast that makes the story enjoyable, while keeping your attention to the end.

I had been looking for this movie for a long time after watching it every Christmas for several years. Lost track of it and now have found it to play to my hearts content.

When my wife and I first went we felt some what guilty because we went on a Sunday evening. However after going we definitely felt we had been to church. The movie is much better than the original The Bishops Wife. That is rare as most remakes fall far short of the original. Great family entertainment.
