    ARGH! Singing!

I wish this had left off from where the LOTR cartoon had left off, and it didn't. And the singing is so annoying, they say about five lines and then they start singing! Another annoying thing is that it keeps going FORWARD and shows them sailing off and it totally ruins it! Also the black riders barely stay true to the book. Terrible animation too.

    Do not waste your time

This is a terrible interpertation of Tolkien's great volume and history The Lord of the Rings. The volume itself, dating back to the 1940's is an amazing, epic, noble story that stays with you and teaches you. In chossing to read this volume, you are choosinf to change yourself and your outlook. Perhaps that is why I do not like cheap, animated editions of such an amazing work. The voices are computer generated, and no or little work was put into the making of this film. Peter Jackson's new Lord of the Rings is an epic, thrilling adventure and journey, I think it justifies the book. Many Tolkien readers refuse to see or like the movie, because they left out their favourite parts or characters, such as Tom Bombadill, but I think they kept the same ambiance and feel that Tolkien intended.

    Piece of Crap

DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE. Unfaithful to Tolkien's mood, annoying songs, annoying backgrounds, bad character, Nazgul all wrong. In short, if you made your own ROTK cartoon, it would probaly be better than this.

    False Scene Index

Although the cartoon is what I wanted, what I got in packaging was completely diffrent. The scene index lists 38 chapters when there is only 30 on the DVD. Plus the scene index is entirely wrong. If you have never seen this cartoon before, do not go by the scene listing.

    Return of the King

I thought this movie did a great job of telling the Lord of the Rings story in a simple way that younger people can understand better. Although it seems a little wierd to go straight from the Hobbit to ROTK, the movie covered most of the story. The songs are the best part-they are great! The Nazgul were cool too.

    Good Movie

The Return of the King is a good movie. My favorite part is when they're inside Mount Doom and Gollum bites off Frodo's finger to get the ring back, but he slips and burns in the fires of Mount Doom. And I liked the songs in it like ''Frodo of the Nine Fingers'', ''Where There's a Whip There's a Way'', ''It's so Easy Not to Try'' and ''The Cracks of Doom''.

    Great kids intro to Tolkien

I saw it when I was 4 too. To me it will always be a classic. Worth buying even just to hear the orcs marching and singing ''Where there's a whip.... There's a way!''

    Good, though incomplete

I originally saw this production when I was four years old, when my grandfather taped it off the television for me. Having been introduced to it at such an impressionable age, my opinion may differ from those people who read the books before watching the animated movies. As with anything on so large a scale as Tolkein's trilogy, it is almost impossible to please all fans since everybody has specific points they may enjoy more than others, and it is just incomprehensible for someone to go about animating every detail. That said, I was not necessarily disappointed by the movie, but after reading the book I realized exactly how much of the story was cut out. I would guess nearly half of the book was cut out, including the climactic ''Scouring of the Shire.'' However, this movie remains a strong piece of my childhood, and therefore I reccomend it highly.
