Overview

A terrifying legacy haunts a single mother in this sequel to the frightening box-office hit The Ring. Hoping to leave their terrifying experiences in Seattle behind them, Rachel Keller Naomi Watts and her son, Aidan David Dorfman, move to the small town of Astoria, OR, where Rachel takes a job writing for the local newspaper. When Rachel learns of an unexplained murder, which occurred after a teenager watched a strange videotape with his girlfriend, she suspects her past is following her and she begins looking into the case. Rachel believes that the otherworldly Samara has come back; however, as she tries to convince others of the young girl's powers, her own son falls ill and is hospitalized, and Rachel's stories fail to convince either Dr. Emma Temple Elizabeth Perkins, who suspects Rachel is guilty of child abuse, or David Rourke Simon Baker, one of Rachel's colleagues who fears for Aidan's safety. Also starring Sissy Spacek, The Ring 2 was directed by Hideo Nakata; it was the first English-language project for the Japanese filmmaker, who previously made Ringu, the picture that was the basis for The Ring.

I loved it. You get to see that Samara wants to finish the life

I loved it. You get to see that Samara wants to finish the life she should've had through Aiden. You see the changes in him because she takes over. Another person mentioned the elk attacking them. Animals sense danger that's why they were attacking. It's a great movie about a mother's love for her child and what she has to go through to save his life.

    A reviewer

This would have been a great movie... if it were a comedy. I laughed more at this movie than I have at any comedy I've ever seen. It's one that you can actually enjoy making fun of. Nobody should even be slightly scared from The Ring 2.

Good plot but not scary at all

The plot was good but it lacked in scariness. Right off the bat I could tell that this movie was a heck of a lot better than the first one. Although you might not understand this one without watching the first Ring. I liked that in the end they finally realized that all the scary chick wanted was a mother and that was why she was trying to take over her son. The bad part about this movie was, like I said, it wasn't scary. They tried to scare you with the people that died with their mouths opened so far but it did not succeed. So overall I recomend this movie to people that like scary movies but don't like to be scared.

CERTAINLY NOT AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL, BUT GOOD NONETHELESS

I was hoping this film to be better than the first, but sometime you don't get what you wish for. I was a little disappointed in this film, for one it wasn't half as scary as the first film. There are some very entertaining scenes in this one, but the movie as a whole just wasn't anything great, but not bad.

    Pretty good for being original

I will admit that for some reason i actually liked this movie. If you have read the books then you probably know that none of the movies are like the books. The only one that holds some of the same elements is this one and ringu. I will agree that peter d has some of the worst taste in movies I mean not only does he like fd2 but he likes Miss Congeniality 2 which was absolutely horrible. If you've ever seen Ringu 2 then you probably hated it cause I've yet to find anyone who liked it. Knowing how horrible Ringu 2 was the studio decided to create there own script. Naomi watts wrote most of the new script. Seeing as she's an actress (a damn good one at that) then you should give her some props for at least trying to make a good movie. The script was original which made me wonder did the makers of the Ring movies know that there were books to Ringu 1 and 2. If they did know that why would they base The Ring off of Ringu. If they based The Ring 1 and 2 off of the books both of them would be so much better therefore i give it a 3***out of 5*****

Even better than the first one!

This movie is one of the best sequels of 2005 next to "Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous". I am going to buy it on DVD when it comes out.

    what a horrible film

the first one was ok, but this one was just absolutly dreadful. At one point of the movie for no reason they were attacked by a bunch of elk....no explanation..I thought it was a Geico commercial....the story wasnt much of a story, just a bunch of things happening to this kid and when you left the theater you didnt give a damn about any of the charachters. It was possibly the worst movie I have seen in 5 years. and peter D, you have real bad taste in movies..Final Destination 2?
