Overview

Academy Award winning director Bernardo Bertolucci's The Sheltering Sky comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 (a must for any Bertolucci film). English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. English, French, and Spanish subtitles are accessible. So bad I read the book to see if I had missed something

This movie was so bad that I read the book to see if I had missed or misunderstood something. Both truly appa led me. Scenes seem designed to offend and all of it seems pointless. THe characters are unattractive in appearance and repulsive in conduct. I kept expecting Dan Ackroydd to appear and ask, &quot Hideoulsy bad, was it not?&quot , as if from an old episode of &quot Bad THeatre&quot from &quot Saturday Night Live&quot .

    Missing sceens

This release ''excludes'' a number of important sceens. Specifically after Port has died and Kit takes refuge with the passing caravan. Disappointing to say the least! If your search is for the ''uncut'' version ...this is NOT it.

    Exotic, erotic and enthralling

John Malkovich in my favorite actor and is at his egotistical best in this one. The sights and sounds make you loose yourself in this exotic land. Everytime I watch this movie it reveals more for the senses to soak up!
