I am an AVID, and I do mean AVID film collector. I own 163 DVDs in my private collection. Usually,I buy the DVD before I've even seen the film !!! This was the case w/ ''The Skulls''. My main reason for picking it up was that William L. Petersen(''Manhunter'')has a supporting role in it, and I am a big Petersen fan. Well, I put it in my player not expecting too much...just the average thriller. Boy, was I wrong. It blew me away !!! Rob Cohen's direction was crisp and smooth @ the same time. The suspense was exhilarating--to say the least. Randy Edelman's musical scoring to the picture fit in very well...not intrusive, yet an addition to the suspense. Sharp editing was a joy to see as well. the most important thing to mention was Josh Jackson's wonderful performance. He did a terrific job, as did William L. Petersen. The ending ? Well, let's just say--you'll NEVER see it coming. Don't even bother to rent this one if you're a DVD collector like myself...just BUY IT !!!
