I was very disappointed with this product when it arrived and the only picture on the video was the snow dog. The description states "Raymond Brigg's animated short about a young boy's friendship with a magical snowman receives a 30th Anniversary release in this SET featuring THAT beloved Christmas classic AS WELL AS The Snowdog. There is no set it is a single picture. The original snowman is not on the disk. Very upset with customer service as well. Will not be ordering from B&N again. Delivery was very slow as well.
NOT A BOX SET- this is only the one movie and IT IS THE SADDEST MOVIE EVER!!!!
As far as I can tell, this DVD does not include the original movie "The Snowman". If it is on there, I can not find any way to access it. The Snowman and the dog may be a bit sad or dark for little kids as it starts with a boy mourning the death of a dog, and ends with a boy mourning the death of a snowman.
This is a sequel to the original story I grew up with and in my opinion, is every bit as heartwarming and wonderful as the original. It features another story of a boy's fantasy of the snowman coming to life with no spoken words, only music. My 2 year old loved it. I think it will become a classic and fond memory to him just as the original was for me. Other reviews mention a box set, but as of this review, I don't see that mentioned anywhere in the item description. And yes, it is a bit sad at the end, but still heartwarming! I highly recommend.
