Overview

Veteran western hero Broncho Billy Anderson wrote and starred in a series of cheap westerns released by the Golden West Producing Company in 1919. Like in his heyday with Essanay the "ay" in Essanay stood for Anderson, Broncho Billy played to his strength: rustic comedy augmented by a dash of pathos. This time, he is a ne'er-do-well who surprises everyone in town by standing up to a nasty gambler Frank Whitson. Anderson hired many of his old cohorts from the days at Essanay for this series, including comic Harry Todd and fellow cowboy star Fred Church.
