The Sweetest Sound (The Ultimate Name Game)

Overview

Producer/writer/editor/director Alan Berliner heads on a journey of self-discovery in the documentary The Sweetest Sound. This transfer is presented in 1.33:1 full frame and looks very good for the source materials used. Overview

Producer/writer/editor/director Alan Berliner heads on a journey of self-discovery in the documentary The Sweetest Sound. This transfer is presented in 1.33:1 full frame and looks very good for the source materials used. Much of the film is made up of old films, home videos, and news clippings, which means that many imperfections (including dirt, grain, and scratches) show up in the print. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital Stereo and sounds very appropriate for the film. There aren't a lot of instances of directional effects in this film, though the contents of the story don't require them. Overall this is a pleasing soundtrack for the film it supports. No alternate soundtracks or subtitles are available on this disc. The extra features are rather slim pickings here -- the only supplements available on this disc include a short biography on the director, a list of some other docudrama titles with respective trailers, and some credits on the producers of the DVD.
