The Thing with Two Heads

Overview

Generally considered one of the worst movies of all time (which arguably makes it one of the funniest), The Thing with Two Heads is one part mad scientist hokum, one part social satire, all parts jive. Despite the movie's questionable artistic merits MGM Home Entertainment's disc of the film looks and sounds fine. Actually, the picture looks great. Presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1, the framing looks accurate throughout, though it unfortunately has not been enhanced for widescreen TVs. The transfer...

The transfer is sharp and the colors are stable -- if a little soft -- and the flesh tones seem accurate as well. The film is available in English mono only, though French and Spanish subtitles have been included. A rambunctious theatrical trailer is also available. Like most of the other titles in MGM's Midnight Movies DVD series, there really isn't much going for it in terms of extras.
