Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Hans J. Wollstein
A cast of poverty row regulars does what it can with a plot that, to be perfectly honest, holds very few surprises. That the mystery killer is someone seemingly above reproach is of course a given in these kinds of thrillers and the only true departure from the routine is the murder weapon, a fact that has led some connoisseurs to add The Thirteenth Man to the list of poverty row horror films. Leading man Weldon Heyburn appears like he's never missed a meal but the choice of Inez Courtney as his wisecracking sidekick is felicitous. Usually cast as the heroine's girlfriend, Courtney visibly enjoys playing a leading role for a change and gets the most of the opportunity.
