While The Town That Dreaded Sundown has its shortcomings technical and acting wise it is without a doubt very effective in being truly terrifying in that it is an unsolved case of serial murders. When I researched the actual case it was little surprise that produce/director Charles B. Pierce took historical license in presenting it to the big screen, but not nearly as much as certain detective magazines have done when writing about the case. Even today watching this movie will set you on edge! It was also gratifying that extras such as interviews with cast and crew, along with an audio commentary were included. And to include The Evictors was just as gratifying. Job well done!

I am a big fan of this movie. I can rememeber watching as a child and not sleeping for weeks. This movie will keep you looking over your shoulder, especially through the windows and doors at night.
