Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Nothing takes the place of reading a book to a child, but having Meryl Streep stand in as narrator isn't too shabby. In this 1985 Rabbit Ears production, Streep's warm, British-accented narration and characterizations combine with pianist George Winston's enchanting score and David Jorgensen's delicate illustrations, bringing to magical life Margery Williams's beloved 1922 story about a stuffed rabbit that is transformed by a young boy's love. Winner of a Grammy Award and a Humanitas Prize, the Rabbit Ears series of reverently faithful storybook adaptations is home video's equivalent of "quality time."
