The high-water mark for Adult Swim

Whereas some of the earlier Adult Swim series had shown occasional flashes of brilliance, none did so with the consistency of the Venture Bros. Not just a parody of Johnny Quest, Marvel Comics, and anything else that might be lying around, but also a show about failure, arrested adolescence, and fatherhood. That a show this laugh-out-loud, tears-in-your-eyes funny, can also have any kind of emotional subtext is remarkable. That it can also find time to reference Stiv Bators, the Micronauts, and the Never-ending Story is genius. For highlights, I would say Ghosts of the Sargasso, Are You There God, It's Me, Dean?, Tag Sale, You're It!, and the final episode, but they are all very, very good. Hopefully the gods of animation will continue to smile on us, and grant us many more seasons of this hilarious show.

    Hilarious show!

Man, this show is hilarious! It's humor is a bit warped, but it is very clever and very, very funny! Highly recommended, and worth every penny! Note: Although animated, I would NOT recommend this show for young kids. It's got lots of PG-13 humor. It would be better for high school age or adults.
