Been hearing a lot about this series. Everyone I know kept recommending it to me. After finally watching it, it really is emotional, intense and character driven. Some of the camera shots are well done and it give the setting the atmosphere.

Fabulous series. The direction is wonderful, the characters are intriguing, and the storyline is full of plot twists that you don't really see coming. Much like the zombies themselves. The only thing that I don't like about this series is the gore and grossness. Some of the bloodier scenes are a bit too over the top - I laugh about it, but others have found it stomach-turning. So, watch if you dare. The series premiere is a little slow going, but once you get past the first show, you won't be able to stop. LOVE this series.

I'm not a zombie or horror fan here. It just does not appeal to me. But I happen to come across seeing a trailer online on The Walking Dead and was sucked in from there on. Its an amazing series that all fans of horror should have. Its fun and scary abut also not heart jumping out of your chest kind of scary (no pop-ups here which is nice) and its a type of a show that really does show human survival. Kind of reminds me of Justin Cronin's The passage which is also apocalyptic but only with vampires.

Although I don't normally consider zombie flicks as none other than flashy horror stuff, I am transfixed and drawn in to The Walking Dead series. Based on graphic novels, it has taken sheer genius to develop them into watchable but excellent characters. The writing and development are keen and very well done; the gravity of the situation and horror so real; and the plot very engaging. I would recommend this because it is well done and exceptional. Judge for yourself, if you dare. A must see!!!

I upped and just bought this without having once seen the show. Horror wise, I would have to say that zombie stuff is my favorite in the genre. I was very interested in this show, but unfortunately did not have cable or satellite, so I did not have AMC to watch this show, but I had it on good authority from several friends and coworkers that it was a great show, so I just decided I would go ahead & purchase it. I liked the idea that someone was finally creating a series basied around zombies, and that it was based off a series of graphic novels no less. I am going to have to read those now after watching this. This show is not just senseless zombie action/gore either, it's 1 part zombie show & 1 part drama/good acting...a good mix of both. There is definite substance to this show. Another great thing about this series is that it's an on-going thing. I've found myself wondering at the end of certain zombie movies, after the primary conflict has been resolved & the movie ends, what becomes of the characters after, in a still zombie infested world. With a series, you can find out more about what happens and have the opportunity to keep it going until a resolute solution could possibly come to light. In The Walking Dead, it looks to be that solution may be an eventual cure, which is cool. I hope this show goes on for several seasons, because I really enjoyed the 1st season. I can't wait to see season 2! This show is intense, powerful, dramatic, and engrossing. If you are a zombie movie lover, definitely do check this show out! You're sure to love it!
