Kevin Costner gives a gripping performance in 'The War' only second best to Elijah Wood who totally tears your heart out! This is a story of a man's battles with the ghosts of the Viet Nam War as he tried to teach his children the wise lessons of 'love thy enemies' first before resorting to violence. Kind of like, 'turn the other cheek' and 'do good to those who despitefully use you'. One touching scene is when this father, (who's son has just been beaten up by the 'Lipnicki' children,) gives them the cotton candy he'd bought for his own family, even though they're still taunting them all. The boy can't believe what he's seeing! But in the end, they do learn the lesson of love that the father has been trying to teach them. A VERY touching, deep and at times funny film! I'm sure you'll just love it as I did! I recommend this film to everyone I know and to you too! Get your copy today!

I rented this movie just tonight, and I absolutely LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am planning on buying a copy in the near future. The acting was phenominal and Elijah Wood looked especially cute (yes, it is true, I am a HUGE EW fan ;) I recommend this movie for anyone who enjoys a good war movie, but I must say, its not for the weak at heart.
