Overview

In this science fiction-themed mock-documentary feature, a pair of filmmakers, Mike (Dan Brinkle) and Gary (Kyle Nudo), are working on a project about Lloyd (Bobby Harwell), an elderly man with a remarkable, if dubious, story. Lloyd claims that in the 1940s he invented a machine that could read the alpha rays given off by human beings and that a test of the machine led to the sudden disappearance of the entire population of Wicksboro, TX. Mike and Gary find Lloyd's story fascinating, though hardly credible, but as they visit what remains of Wicksboro, they learn that there may be more truth to Lloyd's story than they imagined. The Wicksboro Incident received its world premiere at the 2001 Hollywood Film Festival.

This movie was really truely awful and not in a fun campy romp kind of awful but in a slow, poorly shot, boring, rip-off kind of awful. I knew when I read the box that this would be a Blair Witch rip off, I did not know that they would lift direct shots and scenarios from the movie. Where Blair Witch had a context for this film Thw Wicksborough Incident gives no setting or explaination as to how this ''subversive'' film was preserved from the ''people who will stop at nothing to supress the truth'' Llllooonnngggg periods of nothing happening, zero tension, and less technical acumen make this movie a snooze. The few bright moments are the doctored UFO footage. Unfortunately this is about ten minutes worth of screen time in the first half hour of the film. Run, don't walk, away from this DV travesty.
