Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
For those who have yet to make the acquaintance of Murray, Greg, Anthony, and Jeff, Dance Party is an ideal way to meet the Wiggles. Available for the first time on DVD, this footloose collection of song-and-dance segments from the early years of the Wiggles' wildly popular Australian preschool TV series will keep even the narcoleptic Jeff awake. Dance, skip, and sing along to 15 songs that introduce multicultural steps and lingo, including "Di Dicki Do Dum," "Do the Flap," "Brown Girl in the Ring," "Georgia's Song," "Nicky Nacky Nocky Noo," and "The Big Red Car." Helping the Wiggles to shake a leg are costumed characters Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Dorothy the Dinosaur, and Henry the Octopus, as well as a company of adorable children who show a few moves of their own. With their outgoing personalities and silly behavior, the Wiggles are guaranteed to get this Party started.

    True Form

This is our favorite wiggles tape (of 6 that we own) even though it is their oldest...It has the best songs and shows the wiggles at their best - singing songs with dancing without the newer flashy props/effects/puppets.... First glance at the tape might turn some off because it is much older than recent tapes, but its great to see the wiggles way back when...when anthony was only wearing a green polo shirt in some scenes and the big red car was only a cardboard cutout...

    Basic Wiggles

This is a great video, it just takes time to get used to the low budget props. The video has a great deal more integrity than the newer videos, which are overproduced and forget who the audience is (toddlers). The cover of ''Brown Girl in the Ring'' is magnificent.

    simply good

My kids (4 and 1) love this video more than the newer, flashier Wiggles offerings. This is more about their music than their schtick. And their music is quite wonderful, enhanced by the participation of children in many numbers.

    Not A Rip-Off if you're a Wiggles Aficionado

I think this video is one of the Wiggles' best. It seems old because it is. It was originally called ''Big Red Car'' in Australia. Part of it's appeal is that it is from 1995, and it is fun to see what the Wiggles were like when they were starting out. Anyone who considers it to be a rip-off is gravely mistaken, in my eyes. The fact that Greg and Jeff look about ten years old, Anthony has some wacky hair issues, and Murray can be seen holding is daughter, should further anyone's interest in this Wiggly video, I think it is one of the best.

    Not the best

The Wiggles Go Bananas is still the best that we've seen thus far. My son's attention is just not captured with this video. I am not sure if it is the video quality or if it's the content. Perhaps it will grow on him...it's only been a few weeks.

    Wiggles at their best

This is what the Wiggles do best - sing and dance.

    Shame on Them

This tape is full of OLD footage with OLD props marketed as new. My kids were unimpressed and not entertained.

    a rip off !

they market this tape as a new release, dated 2001 and yet the tape looks like something very old that was never released (before they were a hit. Everything looks very, very low budgeted. You would be expecting a new tape and it's not. That's terrible.
